My son is 18 - last year of college - always out and I'm worried he's going off the rails. He's switched his location off so I can't see where he is. I'm worried sick because sometimes he doesn't come in until 6am. I'm worried I'm losing him altogether- he won't communicate- he used to be so lovely. What on earth can I do? Please help me

TBH no your probably not the only one OP Doesn't however make it normal.

It really is part of growing up. Most of us do it, most of us survive it.

Yes of course you can collapse in the street, sure something bad might happen. But to the majority of people it doesn't.

TBH the there's two your going to do a) make him scared to go out and never leave home cos there's bad things in the dark don't you know or b) resent that your passively stalking and controlling him, lie to you and worse.

Put your phone down, go to the cinema, theatre, or even the pub basically enjoy the fact he's not under your feet, then when he crawls In at 6 am give him a pint of water let him sleep it of. He's more likely to tell you about his night if he's got a mom that trusts and respects him
