To ask if anyone else has SAD this year?

I've been left with annual SAD as an after effect following my recovery from depression around 7 years ago. Every year, usually early November, I have a massive emotional dip with uncontrollable sobbing, extreme exhaustion and anxiety. Then I remember I have SAD and dig out the lamp, get outdoors more and try to get a grip on my sleep and my thoughts...

This year it's already hit!! I only twigged after sobbing for an hour before work at a story of a cat being put down and imagining taking my perfectly healthy cat to the vets for the same. 🙄

Has anyone else's kicked in yet? How do you deal with yours?

Yep. Everything is so bloody grey outside. I just get going and then we are on nighttime. My cats are confused by the early twilight too. I am managing to work and go to the gym but everything is taking so much effort.

Today is definitely a bad SAD day, so grey! I'm parked in front of the Lumie light & congratulating myself on all small achievements.

I do expect mine to have started by now though - usually late September. I know I'll hit a bad patch next week before the clocks change, and again in late Jan but I am hopefully prepared... (need to cut the carbs and up the veg though).

Requests for mental health help and counselling has gone up 350% in the last week in my workplace. I can't help feeling it must be related to the dark, grey crappiness and the hopelessness of Brexit and UC problems.

Oh my god. That's what it is. Mine kicked in today.

Yes, kicked in last week, feeling pretty glum and very hard to get motivated it focused. I have the Lumie Brazil I think it's called (the big one) and it definitely helps. I feel much more alert and energetic after a session in front of it (usually while simultaneously watching crap on tv!)
