AIBU to ask how long you see your DP/DH/DW on a week day?

Just that really. I’m curious.

I work evenings and he works days. He leaves the house 7-7.30am and home anywhere between 6-7.30pm.

I work 2.30pm - 8.30pm so I see him for about 1hr/1.5hrs at night before bed.

He gets in at 5.45, I go to bed at 8.30 so 2.45 hours.
In the meantime he eats, and does bedtime so... not a lot really.

About 2.5-3 hours. He's usually home before 7, we're usually in bed by 10.

We both work 9-5 and both work locally so quite a lot really.

When me and dh did similar shifts (i did 8am-4pm and he did 5pm-whenever the resturant customers left) it was about 30 mins a day and a sunday.

I left at 7am before he and the kids got up. He went to work within half an gour of mr getting in.

Now we both working during the day mon-fri. We get from 5.30ish each night and then all weekend.

Its now too much and we almost divorced. He never went out and i felt smothered. Now he goes out and givr me some time alone, with kids or just alone. Its a better balance. I go out too. We make an effort to only spend 3/4 nights together and makebone weekend day family day.

Depends on his shift pattern. Sometimes 5 hours a day sometimes 2-3.

About 5 hours. We work locally and I get home around 4.30, he gets home between 5.30 and 6, then bed at 10.30. Some evenings we do gym/he plays golf but we'd coordinate so we drive together.

He's home by 5:15 and I'm home by either 5:45 or 6:15 depending where I am working. I usually go to bed any time between 10-11 so 4.5 hours or so.

I'm a sahm and dh works from 8-4.30. We spend an hour together in the morning having breakfast etc. then he gets in at 5 and we go to bed at 10 so 6 hours a day. Only 2.5 hours in the evening after ds goes to sleep though.

Although I'm doing night classes on a Wednesday so don't see him then and he might go out cycling one evening, do separate things at the weekends a lot.

Varies but generally around four hours.

On an average weekday, talk on the phone for five mins. Then all day at the weekend.

Twice a week he collects me from work so we have a nice 30 mins kid free then together til bedtime. The other three days we go home separatley so have from 6pm til bedtime.
He goes to the gym 2 or 3 times a week and I may go out for drinks with friends once a fortnight.
Weekends off together.

However this is only this year. Prior to this I did shifts where Id see him for 30 mins monday morning and not see him again til 5pm wednesday repeat through the week.

My husband works 5am till 1pm 6 days a week.
He's home for 1:20, we go to sleep at 8pm. I'm on maternity leave atm, so going to sleep early helps us both get enough. He does workout when he gets home, has a shower. But I generally get to see him 5 hours a day. I know I'm super lucky, but it still doesn't feel enough time for me.

Not at all, he works away Mon-Fri so it's just me & DC during the week. Unless FaceTime counts?

Quite a lot as I don't work at the moment (due with #3 on Wed) but even when I did it was fine.

So probably an hour in the morning before he goes, then he is home by 1730 and we go to bed about 2230 so 5 hours there. We tend to chat on and off on messenger during the day too.

Weekends we are all together.

In fact when I worked I saw him more, we both worked 3 days and had 2 days off with the kids (home ed) and I only worked until 1400 so we had afternoons a couple of times a week too.

We do not live together, but my DH and I see each other almost every afternoon. I work from home, so I can start my work very early in the morning (which is the optimal time for me) and resume in the evenings. This allows me to meet up with my husband and visit our elderly parents (who are in their late eighties) and join up with caring responsibilities for our sons (who have MH problems).

So, we see each other for 3-5 hours a day on average and communicate by e-mail and phone every day.

Thanks for your replies. Guess I'm being silly, been like this over a year but just recently have started to miss him. He works one day at the weekend too which doesn't always help. Can't be helped though, need the money. Will have to carry on sitting on mumsnet to pass the time haha :)

20 minutes in the morning but I'm dashing about so not exactly quality time. Maybe an hour in the evening (he gets home about 9). Saturday evening and most of Sunday.

In the summer sometimes not at al. In the winter quite often with him all day.

Couple of hours if he's on days, not at all if he's on nights and it's a weekday. If it's the weekend and he's on nights I see him for about 4 hours in the afternoon. To be fair though I work away a lot so he isn't the only one out of the house for long.

At the moment as I’m full time it’s an hour in the mornings, I get home at 6 so it’s 4hrs before we head off to bed at 10. He meets me for lunch on a Friday.

I normally only work part time, and he works from home so we see each a lot more normally.

15 minutes between me waking at 6.45 and him leaving at 7.

3.5/4 hours in the evening between him getting in at 7 and us going to bed.

I wish he didn't have such a long commute but we couldn't afford to live nearer his work 90 mins away

DP gets up at 7, get the DC up at 7.15. I usually make it downstairs by 7.45. he leaves at 8. so half an hour in the morning.

He walks in the door at 5.08pm. He is usually asleep by 7.30pm, I wake him up when I go to bed and he plays on the play station. So awake in the evening, 2 hours and 22 minutes, on an average night.

Weekend only

We both work from home. We sit next to each other in our little office. So I see him pretty much 24/7 apart from when I'm at the gym or shopping or he is out on his bike .
