As aptly dubbed by his own Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson.

And as I love giving you images to haunt your dreams, here’s another one, blasphemously titled ‘Our Lord and Saviour’.

—what if it ended up being an arrest in the DNC camp?—

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/10/2017 09:38

why? why doesn’t crossing out work now?

Fekko · 28/10/2017 09:54

Is looks like your dashes are em dashes.

PainInTheEerie · 28/10/2017 09:59

After my iPhone update, it automatically joins up two of my - - to make a —

It’s a pain in the arse

Fekko · 28/10/2017 10:00

Not if you need an em dash!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/10/2017 10:19

what is an em dash? I don’t need one of those!

Fekko · 28/10/2017 10:46

It's what typographers and ye olde compositers used back in the day! I can't say I've actually needed one for years but my Word throws them in as an autocorrect now and then.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/10/2017 11:05

thanks!

lionheart · 28/10/2017 11:42

No need at all Claws.

My sleep patterns have been skewed since the election and that's one reason I am so often up in the wee small hours to pick up stuff from the US. Smile

The assumption seems to be it is Manafort and Flynn.

TheNorthWestPawsage · 28/10/2017 11:43

Americans (wouldn't you know it!) often use em dashes instead of comma or parentheses. And they leave no spaces either side of dash.

Dashes can be used in pairs like parentheses—that is, to enclose a word, or a phrase, or a clause—or they can be used alone to detach one end of a sentence from the main body.

Delurking to mark the occasion

Welcome news at last but I’m fearful this won’t be pretty or end in a satisfying way.

Curious that this week, WaPo reverted to the false equivalency of the campaign by ‘revealing’ the Clinton campaign’s funding of the dossier. What is that about? Hedging their bets?

Pain the iOS change is very irritating. Don’t they know about MN?

badbadhusky · 28/10/2017 12:04

It might be tactical to counter the narrative that the MSM is wholly biased towards the left and against Trump. This way they can say: “look, we published stories unfavourable to Clinton in October.”

PainInTheEerie · 28/10/2017 12:20

The question is, how did they know to push the counter narrative this week? Has the doj informed trump that shoes were about to stop?

And yes gump, it’s highly irritating! As an aside, em dashes were topical in the British media this week

And i say how did they know because there was clearly a coordinated attempt to sway the narrative

PerkingFaintly · 28/10/2017 12:26

The question is, how did they know to push the counter narrative this week?

Ohh, now that is a good point.

I'd assumed it was to distract from Sessions' testimony, which they knew was coming up. But...

I have a feeling that any indictments at this point are going to be 'low level'. Along the lines of the way narcotics squads will 'bust' a bunch of low level penny-ante dealers and 'put the squeeze' on them. They want the 'big yellow cheese' but they need the intel from the little guy to get him. OR these arrests may be to cause panicked movements or actions from the big players that will reveal where the investigation should be headed. Kinda like kicking a rock to see what crawls out from under it.

At any rate, I bet there are a lot of nervous 'small players' in the Trump Gang right now. And a lot of panicked phone calls from them to the 'big players' that are going unanswered. They now know that he and the other 'big players' will throw them under the bus so fast their heads will swim.

lionheart · 28/10/2017 14:44

That's what I thought Across and who in their right mind would want to take the fall for someone like Trump who has no sense of loyalty.

I bet they are on high alert at the airports and private airfields.

lionheart · 28/10/2017 15:07

Yes, I thought I'd ignore the other thread, bad. It looks wrong. Hmm
