My PILs got me monetary vouchers for a day spa for my birthday a few months back. Things have been a bit hectic and I've only just got round to trying to book in to use them. I read out the serial numbers on the phone and the receptionist said hey had expired, as they are only valid for 6 months! But it doesn't say that ANYWHERE on the voucher! It has a start date on it, but no expiry. How am I supposed to know they expire if it doesn't tell me?!

Try reasoning/arguing with them. On social media if necessary, but in my experience some places just aren't interested.

UK law says that gift vouchers must have an expiry date (although I've seen that some shops' vouchers don't expire, which confused me) but the expiry date can be on the purchase receipt. Plastic gift cards often don't have a date printed on them but the date will either be on the receipt or you can check it online.

It could be that the expiry date for your vouchers was on the receipt, which you never saw.
