I'm always telling myself I need to drink more water and I'm sure I'm not alone. Some of you may have cracked it, some of you may not.

So please share your top tips on getting through your daily water quota!

I'm very odd because I like drinking warm/hot water! I don't do that hot water and lemon thing in the mornings because lemon hurts my teeth. But I drink loads of warm/hot water in the day as I find it slips down easier than cold Grin

Findingthissohard · 13/10/2017 20:58

I have a bottle with hydrat8 which has time markings on the side and you need to drink to that point by then. It’s really working for me!

ValarMorghulisss · 13/10/2017 21:26

Get an app to remind you. Idrated is a good one.

TakeMe2Insanity · 13/10/2017 21:29

2 things work for me

  1. Choose a drink you like dilute in water to eek it out for longer having a max of one small carton/can of drink that you like.
  1. Before you have any drink that isn't tea/americano have a glass of water. Generally you then don't go on to have the drink you originally wanted
redexpat · 13/10/2017 21:33

I started making myself drink 2 glasses of water at breakfast and lunch. These days I drink a lot during the evening.

ChiBox · 13/10/2017 21:34

I drink a pint of weak squash for breakfast and when I come in from work. I had kidney stones and I never ever want them or lithotripsy treatment again. Then drink as and when I'm thirsty!

Tiddlywinks63 · 13/10/2017 21:41

I drink 3-4l/day. I love sparkling water with a slosh of grapefruit or cranberry juice, it's really refreshing. I do prefer sparkling water if I'm out, although my tap water at home is lovely.

ShotsFired · 13/10/2017 21:46

How about something like this (have been meaning to do so myself!)

Sparkling water does it for me. Feels like a special drink and like the fact it's portable .

Maggiemoomoo17 · 13/10/2017 21:48

I hate cold water too and love it room temp or in a herbal tea. I refill a 1l bottle and manage to drink 2l a day doing this.

ArgyMargy · 13/10/2017 21:52

I could do with some breathing tips.

Anyone?

coddiwomple · 13/10/2017 22:02

Ignore the sarky comments, you are on AIBU.

I don't care about pseudo science, but if I put on weight, I drink a lot more water and my weight goes back down. I also get rid of headaches by drinking loads.

Aps are good to remind you. People can mock as they like, but I bet that if everybody was drinking a glass of water instead of stuffing themselves with crisps or cakes during the day, there would be less overweight people in this country. Obesity is a modern problem...

dantdmistedious · 13/10/2017 22:05

I get two glasses of water when. The rest of the office is making tea. Gives me litres a day!

Polkadotties · 13/10/2017 22:13

I also have a hydrate m8 bottle. Yes, it's a gimmick but it does make me drink more

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 13/10/2017 22:19

I love water so that helps. I don't like it cold either, has to be room temperature. I keep a glass on the windowsill in the kitchen by the tap and drink from it whenever I see it. Lots of green and herbal teas too which all count.

EastMidsMummy · 13/10/2017 22:27

This thread makes me want to scream. Why is life SO FUCKING COMPLICATED for so many of you?

Are you thirsty? Have a drink. Job done.

forgottenusername · 13/10/2017 22:28

I've found I drink so much more if it's in one of those double wall cups with a lid and a straw. Sound silly, but has worked for me :)

DrDreReturns · 13/10/2017 22:29

When I get to work I have a pint of water without fail. I have another pint after lunch. This is on top of tea and coffee. I wouldn't want to drink any more - I'd spend all day on the toilet!

millifiori · 13/10/2017 22:35

I fill a jug at the beginning of the day and make sure I've drunk the lot by the end. It's 2 litres.

If it gets boring, I infuse it with starwberries and mint or lime and cucumber. Or have some of it as herb tea.

coddiwomple · 13/10/2017 22:38

Hmm

many people don't recognise that they are thirsty, and snack instead or ignore it. Why are people so obtuse? It's not an issue for you, just ignore the thread.

safariboot · 13/10/2017 22:44

Make it into tea, that's what I do Grin.

EastMidsMummy · 13/10/2017 22:46

Do the people who don't recognise that they're thirsty need any advice about breathing in and out? Anyone got any hints?

coddiwomple · 13/10/2017 22:48

EastMidsMummy
I realise you are trying to be funny, but you are not doing too well so far. Try harder.

EastMidsMummy · 13/10/2017 22:51

"Tips on how to drink water" is a pretty high humour bar to reach.
