Really fancy a pizza tonight but dithering about whether to pick one up from the supermarket on my way home (cheaper) or to order one in (nicer). Help me out please!

i think the ones from the deli counter which they make fresh are pretty good. And M&S does a really nice one with prawns and chilli.

glitterlips1 · 13/10/2017 17:56

Depends on where you get the takeaway. If it is Dominos yes, Tops Pizza perhaps, Pizza Hut Delivery No.

WelshMumof1 · 13/10/2017 17:57

Order it in if that's what you prefer. If I'm going to eat that many calories I'll just go for whatever tastes the best and make the most of it. I actually like the local Asda pizza better than the takeout but if you like takeout best then that's what you should do!

MascaraWanda · 13/10/2017 17:57

I’m veggie too vj32. I’m lucky that my local pizza place does quite a few good veggie options and not too greasy either.

Lazy you’re a genius! Best of both worlds!

I think dominos is going to win the battle

BrokenBattleDroid · 13/10/2017 17:57

I love supermarket pizza and am always disappointed by floppy, damp takeaway pizza. Plus I never like the taste of the sauce on them. I'd get a pizza express one from Tesco every time.

SootSprite · 13/10/2017 18:01

I’m with Lazy on this one. Maybe get some peanut m&m’s for pudding alongside the wine

KitKat1985 · 13/10/2017 18:02

Order in! So much nicer!

And get cheese stuffed crust and sour cream dip.

Fuck I really want pizza now.

ItsNachoCheese · 13/10/2017 18:04

I have jelly cherries and apple loops from lidls for pudding just need to sort my main course out Grin

DontTouchTheMoustache · 13/10/2017 18:05

I get tje frozen goodfellas takeaway range...the cheese feast then add your own toppings at home. It even comes with garlic dip

blackteasplease · 13/10/2017 18:06

I I had the idea of pizza tonight too but for some reason the kids have managed to talk me into "making our own"... Hmm

Worriedrose · 13/10/2017 18:12

Dominoes is my secret dirty pleasure
I would only admit it to those I truly trusted

Yogagirl123 · 13/10/2017 18:18

I love pizza too, always veggie for me, love dominos, but usually DH makes them from scratch and uses the Uuni pizza oven, yummy! Enjoy OP it’s Friday night, treat yourself! We are having curry tonight, but really fancy pizza now!

LazyDailyMailJournos · 13/10/2017 18:18

God I could murder a Dominos veggie volcano with garlic & herb dipping sauce for the crusts right now. However after 6 months of LC I'm guessing that the stomach cramps and bloating would not be worth it.

Worriedrose · 13/10/2017 18:19

@LazyDailyMailJournos
I beg to differ!

Bluntness100 · 13/10/2017 18:22

I’d agree order in. Much more decadent, I always pimp the supermarket ones but they never reach the greasy unctuous heights of a takeaway one. 😜

Mammyloveswine · 14/10/2017 09:02

I love the create your own pizzas from asda! Much cheaper than dominos etc! (Although I did post about ordering dominos the other day and it was lush). But when you can a pizza AND wine for a tenner id be going to the supermarket

dementedpixie · 14/10/2017 09:04

Create your own from asda is nicer than takeaway pizza and it's cheaper.

user1471459936 · 14/10/2017 09:04

Co op do nice pizzas. Drizzle olive oil on top before cooking.

BarbaraofSevillle · 14/10/2017 09:10

Asda pizza counter ones are awful. Never understood the love for those, likewise Dr Oetker. Domino's etc not nice either and stupidly overpriced even with vouchers.

I would get a nice supermarket one like M&S or pizza express or a frozen stonebaked one like Goodfellas extra thin and add some olives and peppers if none on already.

BonnesVacances · 14/10/2017 09:14

You need to have your own pizza oven and then you'll never have a dilemma again. Grin Wine

I usually buy a really good quality supermarket pizza and then tart it up with jalapenos, capers, red onion etc. I also really like the Waitrose feta and red onion pizza, but that might be an acquired taste.

Frazzled74 · 14/10/2017 22:17

Thank you, you inspired me to have a posh Aldi pizza and a bottle of Pinot Grigio for my Saturday night treat. It was lovely, and the planned and cooked shepherds pie will give me a day off tomorrow.

ItsNachoCheese · 14/10/2017 22:18

I had my asda bbq chicken and bacon flatbread yesterday instead of a dominos and it was very good

Prictoriafeckam · 14/10/2017 23:00

Pizza is the most overpriced of all takeaways I'm sure; the ingredients cost not much more than pennies, and Dominoes is ridiculously expensive. I won't buy from them for myself, I'll always choose something else or cook a supermarket pizza. The kids love them though, but we have found a local independent place that is more reasonable and they like those, thank goodness.
