To drop DD off in my pyjamas?

Have a rare day off and plan on spending it in bed.
So tempted to just stay in my pyjamas so I can jut slide back into bed when I get home!

...although I have a feeling if I rock up in my captain America pyjamas they think I'm in the midst of a breakdown Grin

@Shedmicehugh I always decorate and do other messy stuff in my PJs. Saves wrecking nice clothes.

@FuckingDiet, I don’t understand that. It would take literally less than a minute to stick leggings and a hoody on so why not just do that?

AllMyBestFriendsAreMetalheads · 13/10/2017 17:08

Next time OP, just sleep in your clothes. It's such a time saver!

JeremyCorbynsBeard · 13/10/2017 17:11

If I want to go back to bed afterwards, I just put on yesterday's dirty clothes for the school run and don't have a shower. Then when I get home I have to get undressed anyway, so can just get back into bed with a clear conscience Grin

WhatTimeIsItCuckoo · 13/10/2017 17:34

I was in the shower the other day when my daughter came back in panicking as it was absolutely bucketing down. I rushed her to school in just my robe and flip flops and literally nothing else - at all. I didn't have to get out of the car, thankfully Grin

FlossieCharlieCat · 13/10/2017 17:35

This thread is hilarious Grin
I'm disappointed though OP that you let me confess to being an occassional pj wearing in public slob and then chickened out yourself! Sad Hope you enjoyed your day off though Smile

TamarGeorgina · 13/10/2017 17:39

Done it. And didn’t care less!
You do get those Mother’s who must get up at 3am to do their hair! I’m a lazy bugger and don’t care!

Frege · 13/10/2017 17:41

Surely the MC alternative to pyjamas on the school run is activewear on the school run- just as comfy and you can pretend you are going to the gym rather than going home to lie on the sofa and read magazines.

"my daughter came back in panicking as it was absolutely bucketing down"

I don't drive, and my DH has usually left for the train station by the time my DDs go to school. My response would have been, "There's a brolly, there's a raincoat, there's a pair of wellies. Off you go! "

WhatTimeIsItCuckoo · 13/10/2017 18:02

liz They have nowhere to leave their stuff so she'd have carried wellies around all day and struggles to fit her raincoat in her bag (am currently working on alternatives) so had a bit of a knee jerk reaction - she's only just started Secondary too so I'm possibly a bit of a soft arse Grin. Was just so glad I didn't have to leave the car!

TheOriginalChatelaine · 13/10/2017 19:07

I just know that putting my jeans on will make me feel up and ready and I won't want to go back to bed ... oh well!

Hope you're not driving then!

OCSockOrphanage · 13/10/2017 20:13

Pyjamas and wellies were commonplace at DS's prep. One mum, a high flying lawyer in corporate law in Paris and London was rarely seen in anything else. She sorted the horses first, then did the school run in her PJs, then went to work. I always wondered if she ever put on business clothes below the waist except for face to face meetings. She was always seriously elegant when dressed for work or social activity, to the point of being a tad intimidating.

Out2pasture · 13/10/2017 20:37

I drove the kids to early morning skating (on the ice at 6am) in pj’s regularly. Also to secondary. I only had to get out of the car twice in 10+ years. Once to fuel up...and once because my little one claimed the doors to the arena were still locked.
Long housecoat and fluffy shearling slippers...

kathrynelizabeth3005 · 13/10/2017 21:03

Very occasionally I have a day where I don't have work and can drop DS at nursery at 8am before heading home to bed. My approach is to throw on those comfy sort of harem trousers with a vest and long cardi because they're the sort of thing I can get back into bed wearing and feel like I'm in pjs without actually wearing pjs 😂

1DAD2KIDS · 14/10/2017 20:54

I wouldn't do the school run in my nightwear. I like to fit myself self out in my birthday suit for bed. I don't think it would be a good option for me.

EvilDoctorBallerinaVampireDuck · 15/10/2017 04:33

1DAD 😂

WriterByTheSea · 15/10/2017 05:12

I teach Kindergarten, and I will tell you that the way to solve this problem is to wait until the teacher says it is Pajama Day, and then when you show up, you fit right in

(Yes, I have Pajama Days in my Kindergarten. Yes, everyone is very happy on Pajama Day!).

hands out stylish and comfortable pajamas to everyone on this thread, with adult beverage of choice

flumpybear · 15/10/2017 05:34

Lol - I’d do a flying fling - don’t get out the car just open the door let the kids out and race home before the bed gets cold

Nothing wrong with wearing pyjamas to school. I even see mums dressed in the evenings in their pyjamas to pick up their children from Guides.

Zeelove · 15/10/2017 14:00

Do you not brush your teeth and wash on the days you don't bother to get dressed too? Rank

SuzukiLi · 15/10/2017 14:09

zee

Where the hell did you make that assumption from? 😂

Laura25o6 · 17/10/2017 17:41

I don’t see it as an issue personally so long as your in the car and let DD walk herself in there’s no shame. I’ve seen much worse at my local spar where people walk in, in the pjs x

SuzukiLi · 17/10/2017 17:52

My DD is 3 so unfortunately I have to take her in!

Isn't it coat weather now or put a hoodie on over your PJ top.
