To drop DD off in my pyjamas?

Have a rare day off and plan on spending it in bed.
So tempted to just stay in my pyjamas so I can jut slide back into bed when I get home!

...although I have a feeling if I rock up in my captain America pyjamas they think I'm in the midst of a breakdown Grin

I just change the bottoms and put a big coat over the top half when I do this. Disrespectful! Really?! It's up to the individual what they do on their day off.

EdmundCleverClogs · 13/10/2017 09:22

SuzukiLi also love this one. I have a feeling it was very MN inspired Wink

chocatoo · 13/10/2017 09:23

Kittymum03 that doesn't bear thinking about...fortunately not!!!

gincamelbak · 13/10/2017 09:25

If inhad pyjamas like the women in that advert then I would wear them out.
But I prefer to wear old saggy t-shirts and a variety of big patterned mis matching pyjamas bottoms.

Enjoy your day off OP! Wear what you like.

NetflixandBill · 13/10/2017 09:26

I would go with clean leggings, long tshirt or vest and a snuggly cardi. You can then go back to bed in the leggings and tshirt

SuzukiLi · 13/10/2017 09:28

I'm too awake now to go back to bed. Think I'm going to head to Asda and see if they have any incognito pyjamas that I can wear out Grin

I saw a woman at the petrol station in her pjs, dressing gown and uggs at 1 o'clock on Wednesday. Still can't work it out in my mind as either a) She needed petrol as she was going somewhere and therefore should surely have been dressed or b) Wasn't going anywhere so could stop in her pjs ... but why would she need petrol?

Cromwell1536 · 13/10/2017 09:37

Never mind the rest of the world, my own family would think it slack and start wondering about whether meds were necessary if I left the house in pyjamas. My kids were always used to me being up and ready for work by 7.30. Then I had a day off and decided to do the school run in sports gear so I could straight for a run afterwards: the six year old looked at me through narrowed eyes and announced, "Those aren't proper clothes; go and put on proper clothes."

Anyway, enjoy your day off, OP!

Hiphopopotamus · 13/10/2017 09:37

I never understand why seeing people out in pjs bothers people so much. Why does it matter? People run on different schedules, people work shifts, people don't always adhere to a traditional schedule. What's wrong with staying in pjs to drop kids off then getting back into bed. Why judge?

poppl · 13/10/2017 09:38

I LOVE the fact that people do this and don't give a shit. It's liberated as fuck.

I wouldn't though. I'd have to at least put something comfy but daytimey on. Although then I'd get into doing my hair, then I may as well put some make up on.... and before I know it I'm in Tesco doing the weekly shop. Bah!

Ellendegeneres · 13/10/2017 09:40

I drop off in my pjs. They look like joggers though, someone asked where I'd bought them they were right up her street. Told her primark. She was like huh, was in there two days ago, didn't see them! Blush Told her to check the nightwear section and she laughed, hadn't gone that part.
I'm not fussed, as long as they're not obviously pjs. I come home from the school run and get back into comfy stuff every day, I'm only with the baby and if we have to go out we get dressed

Vq1970 · 13/10/2017 09:44

What's the etiquette if you don't actually wear the pyjamas to bed? I have lots of lovely pjs and when I get in from work I get changed into them. And on the weekend when I've finished all my chores, exercise etc I'll have a shower and wash my hair and put pjs on.

But I don't wear them to sleep in, I sleep naked.

When I go for a massage I'll wear my pjs because I consider them to be loungewear although technically they're pjs but they're not obviously pjs. And if I need to nip out to get some milk or see my mum or whatever, I'll go out in them with a cardi over the top.

Is this wrong? Should I care more? Grin

Jas8085 · 13/10/2017 09:44

OP, put a jumper on and drive. No one will notice.

On a rare day off, you must totally pamper yourself. Take the car if you can. Hope you have a relaxing day.

User843022 · 13/10/2017 09:45

'I never understand why seeing people out in pjs bothers people so much. Why does it matter?'
It's like when people wear food stained clothes a few days on the trot or have excessively greasy hair, it really doesn't matter at all but it gives the impression of just being lazy, grubby and unkempt really.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/10/2017 09:48

What really gets me is, why the hell anyone would want to wear their pyjamas outside and then go and sleep in them. I would want to sleep in clean fresh pyjamas.
Sound like your compromise was good.
I would never wear pyjamas out [ unless i hid them or it was an emergency]

EdmundCleverClogs · 13/10/2017 09:50

but it gives the impression of just being lazy, grubby and unkempt really.

Only if you're a judgmental, grade A snob who can't use their imagination as to why someone might have worn pjs on that particular occasion beyond being 'lazy and grubby' Hmm.

SuzukiLi · 13/10/2017 09:51

Thankyou for your the wishes on enjoying my day off Flowers

I'm going to lie on the sofa for a few hours contemplating life then I'm going to decorate DD bedroom for when she gets home. She wants a marvel room and I'm very excited about it!

becotide · 13/10/2017 09:53

Buy plain black pyjamas, you rank amateur

TheDowagerCuntess · 13/10/2017 09:54

LOL, I am a judgmental, grade A snob, especially when it comes to other people wearing their PJs out. I'm happy to admit it.

Just get dressed.

Not the OP obviously, who has moved onto bigger and better things.

EdmundCleverClogs · 13/10/2017 09:55

She wants a marvel room and I'm very excited about it!

Sounds brilliant! Can you do my room next. I only want pictures of Thor/Chris Hemsworth though. Oh and some smatterings of Chris Pratt as well.

QuestionableMouse · 13/10/2017 09:56

I drive back to uni every week in my Pj's. No one sees me though.

poppl · 13/10/2017 09:56

Nah the amateurs use pjs which could pass for day clothes. The truly pro go out in proper pastel shaded pjs with teddies on.

They are the ones I admire. If they have curlers in then so much the better.

SuzukiLi · 13/10/2017 09:57

It's basically going to be a smaller version of my room Grin

Definitely Chris Pratt! He's her first crush, it's so cute.

'See you later, pyjama haters!' Grin

I wear trackies in these situations. Really comfy trackies.
