Have a rare day off and plan on spending it in bed.
So tempted to just stay in my pyjamas so I can jut slide back into bed when I get home!

...although I have a feeling if I rock up in my captain America pyjamas they think I'm in the midst of a breakdown Grin

As a teacher I think this is so disrespectful. I am in the classroom, professionally dressed, prepared and ready to greet your children

Well yeah, thats your job. you get paid to be there, wearing clothes. And since you won';t even see the parents in pyjamas, what does it matter to you?
It's not disrespectful.

nigelsbigface · 13/10/2017 11:24

I wore a very old fleecy jumper on the school run again when I was sick (it's my poorly jumper that I've had since I was 17 so it's a full 20 years old)
I wonder if a) people thought it was pajamas-it has the look of a pajama or b) if I should have cared...

Dontgiveaflyingfuck · 13/10/2017 11:31

This is when i am very jealous of my friend! She wears a burka and often does the school run in her PJs so she can go back to bed. Obv no one can tell :-)

I genuinely wouldn't even notice or care if I saw someone in their pyjamas. For people who this actually bothers, do you really have so little else in your life to worry about that it is important to you whether someone is dressed in pjs or jeans for 5 minutes of their day? It's so judgemental. Just leave other people alone and get on with your life!

OP just do it, if only to make the horrified mothers at the school gate gasp in disapproval and cluck like hens as you waltz by :)

Can you tell I've not had the pleasure of doing a school run myself yet other than for nieces and nephews?

User843022 · 13/10/2017 12:03

'No-one's talking about wearing pyjamas to work. It's for stay at home days.'

Yes fine for stay at home days. Not for leaving the house. Why does anyone ever say 'why do you care?'. Someone was asking for opinions.

There's no frothing or pearl clutching just seriously get up 5minutes earlier if the 2 mins' it takes to get dressed is such a challenge Grin

FuckingDiet · 13/10/2017 12:27

I wore my pj's to Morrison's the other night, it was 21:40 they closed in 20 minutes if I had got dressed it would of been shut. I needed milk for dc breakfast and bread for their lunch I really didn't give a fuck, they are clothes all parts that should of been covered were. I did put a hoodie over the top as it was chilly and I don't own a dressing gown.

DaisyRaine90 · 13/10/2017 12:48

I think if you’re going out you should be wearing jeans and a smart top, a dress, trousers or a skirt. I would include a late run to the supermarket. Or the school run. I don’t see how it could take more than sixty seconds to pull on some jeans and a jacket 😂 I used to go out in my cleaning clothes (leggings, loungewear) and feel like crap. It’s not about snobbery it’s about self care. It’s about setting an example.

EvilDoctorBallerinaVampireDuck · 13/10/2017 12:53

Is it OK for DC? I've taken DD to the doctor's in pyjamas when she was almost too weak to walk there, it meant that she could just stumble up the ladder and fall back into bed when we got home.

SuzukiLi · 13/10/2017 12:57

daisy I don't even get that dressed up for work Grin

DaisyRaine90 · 13/10/2017 13:00

If DC are genuinely that ill then of course. But I would not take my DD out in pyjamas and only will with the baby until he Is about 5/6 months old. To the hospital yes, to the GP probably not.

DaisyRaine90 · 13/10/2017 13:02

SuzukiLi
😂😂 Lmfao
I don’t wear make up half the time and chuck my hair in a messy bun, but I don’t go out without having had a quick wash, teeth brushed and proper clothes on 😂

cakesandphotos · 13/10/2017 13:04

I used to put my onesie on over my pjs to do my early morning horse turn out and feed. It was snowing and I didn’t factor in the track being icy. I got my car stuck 3/4 of a mile off the main single track road. I had to walk down the fields to the mainer road and begin the 2 mile trudge home. Luckily my mum was around and she came and rescued me. Moral of the story, get dressed! Grin

SuzukiLi · 13/10/2017 13:04

I am a mega slob. I showered today for the first time since Monday Grin I just don't have time! I leave the house at 7 and don't get home till 7. Then it's get the kid into bed, do the housework, cook myself some tea and do any work that needs doing and straight to bed.

Papafran · 13/10/2017 13:06

Fuck that daisy, I will wear what I like. If I were you I would focus your efforts on people who are actually doing bad things in society, not people who aren't as smartly dressed as you would like. I also don't have 'cleaning clothes' so I am not sure what you mean. I am currently wearing leggings- just got back from the shop. I often just wear my gym-gear at home and out. I am not harming anyone. People who shout racist abuse and assault people are harming others even if they happen to be smartly dressed.

EvilDoctorBallerinaVampireDuck · 13/10/2017 13:08

Myrtle how about: I pull on yesterday's clothes to do the school run because that way I get more sleep, then go home and get washed and dressed?

DaisyRaine90 · 13/10/2017 13:28

As I said before up to you what I want to do. Just saying what I do. Which is mostly do what I want to do regardless of anyone’s judgements. By “cleaning clothes” I mean the clothes I wear to do the cleaning- leggings or joggers and a vest top or t-shirt.

DaisyRaine90 · 13/10/2017 13:29

I wouldn’t clean in something clean, smart and ironed. Though I try not to clean if I can help it 🤷‍♀️

PortiaCastis · 13/10/2017 13:33

Wear what you want don't worry about judgement and snobbery from others as if they're gawping at your jammies they're leaving somebody else's clothes alone

Cromwell1536 · 13/10/2017 13:42

Faith, did you actually fight some people tooth and nail for the right of other people to make choices? Wow, I thought I was all woke writing the odd letter...

I once saw a bloke wearing a t-shirt with the legend "I'm silently correcting your grammar'. I think that t-shirt should be adapted to all the shit that exercises us 'judging your hair cut/eyebrows/fake tan/pj-wearing/choice of fuck-off 4x4 car'. I think it would kind of take the pressure off needing to have opinions about these things.

Daisy - the 'proper clothes' thing was my own phrase, come back to bite me on the arse, after years of wrestling children into clothes they didn't want to wear...

Papafran · 13/10/2017 13:45

As I said before up to you what I want to do

I think if you’re going out you should be wearing jeans and a smart top, a dress, trousers or a skirt

Isn't that suggesting what others should do rather than just what you personally would do?

User843022 · 13/10/2017 14:02

' I showered today for the first time since Monday grin I just don't have time!'

Nice. Your poor colleagues, do you find anyone spraying perfume in your general direction? Grin

DaisyRaine90 · 13/10/2017 14:15

Sorry I should have said I think “one” should not “you”

DaisyRaine90 · 13/10/2017 14:16

As you said it was just a suggestion. I don’t make the rules.

SuzukiLi · 13/10/2017 14:28

Nice. Your poor colleagues, do you find anyone spraying perfume in your general direction? grin

Haha I don't really do much moving about so don't rack up much smell 😂 Plus I work with smelly boys anyway so they wouldn't notice.
