I am adopting a cat from a lady who no longer wants him.

I have all her address etc and am going at 3pm. Have asked to change to 1pm and haven't got a reply in 4 days now.

Would it be ok to still turn up at 3pm?

Awwww, feel all warm and fuzzy to read a happy story on AIBU. Jolly good show OP.

Jux · 12/10/2017 21:30

OP, Phoenix looks pretty damn confident in those latest pics! How's he been for the last couple of hours? Does he know where your his bed is? Wink

Cornedbeef aaaaaaaaaaah! I want a kitten. No, I want lots of kittens....

MipMipMip · 12/10/2017 21:31

If you can it might be an idea to type something up for thee woman to sign saying you are now Phoenix's owner. I know it's a pain to have to go round there but she does sound pretty flaky - you don't wasn't her changing her mind. At the very least keep the texts as evidence.

Well done on rescuing him- he's a beautiful boy and will no doubt be very happy with you.

What a lovely post and what a
Lovely cat

Spangles1963 · 12/10/2017 22:30

Aw bless him. He has such a sad look in his eyes. I feel quite tearful. But reassured that he is now with a mum who will love him properly and not give him the elbow for a newcomer. God how I hate people like that.

NancyDonahue · 12/10/2017 22:31

Oh he's melting my heart.

Keep him in for at least a month and shower him with love and treats. He'll love you forever 😍

MrsCrabbyTree · 13/10/2017 00:27

It won't be long until those eyes lose this unsure what's happening o me look to a I love you look. My cat took a few weeks to fully relax and now she loves my house (and me) to bits.

Wishing you both a long and happy friendship.

Dizzybintess · 13/10/2017 00:38

Aww he is lovely x we sadly had to re home our cat last year as my 6 year old daughter was horrifically allergic to him. Even the whites of her eyes would swell like jelly!
We agonised over rehoming him and I sobbed for days, and I'm a dog person really!! x the cats protection found him a lovely owner. I can never understand why people get rid of pets with little care x

LuluJakey1 · 13/10/2017 00:41

He'll love you forever within 24 hours. He's beautiful.

ChippingInLovesTheApprentice · 13/10/2017 01:17

Oh he's gorgeous. He looks so different in all of the photos.

I can't believe she rehomed him so casually. 'Just take him'. Poor little mite. Still, he's fallen on his paws with you! 🐾🐾.

I really miss having a cat, I can't have one right now, but I'd live to be able to go and rescue one. My last two rehomed themselves with me! Sadly, or luckily, their original owners didn't give a toss. Both lived to be over 20.

I'd definitely get it in writing that he's yours now & I'd get him chipped.
