Nope, not strange at all. Male violence, including sexual violence, against women is at epidemic levels. Not so the other way around. So reversing the sexes doesn't work because the context is completely different.

Well tbf people do say that about women who are assaulted. I've been raped and I have had people ask me why I didn't try to fight him off or fight harder but I did bloody try to fight him off. He was just too strong for me and no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't budge him.

It's not. It's a quirk of the Scottish criminal justice system where digitally penetrating a person is not treated as rape. If you have a beef about it you are better taking it up with the Scottish Parliament rather than tired old bleating about women

I forget the details of it but on twitter recently there have been articles/studies or something doing the rounds comparing sentances women and men get for mpv crimes that shows women are subject to much harsher sentancing than males. There is certainly much worse outrage in the media, rosmary west and myra hindley are generally portrayed as much worse and more culpable than their male counter parts. I'm sure posters who frequent the feminism section would have better knoweldge on harsher sentances for females.

It’s a horrid assault but no more horrid for being female on male rather than the other way round. And I did nt believe prosecuted or sentenced any differently.

Get- yes i have had that said to me also. Despite the fact i was a young child.

There was a case recently where victim compensation of peadophiles was refused as the girls apparantly 'consented' despite being children at the time.

With regards to the differing definitions of rape and sexual assualt (that have same sentacing potential iirc) rape is a different term legally and imo shpuld stay that way because it comes with different risks of additional truama of pregnancy for female victims(that alone can end a womans life) and stds (its around 9 times more likely that a woman cam catch std/i's from penile penatration than a male from a woman). Having been pregnant as the result of rape (by coersion) and raped and sexually assualted by both men and women dealing with that pregnancy and how it ended was a different truama from the emotiobal/physical truama i sustained from other assualts. It wasn't worse but mentally it was different and i'm happy the terms are different legally speaking.

I did notice the victim say that a man who did that to a woman would have been punished much more. He is completely ignorant of how rape is usually treated if he genuinely thinks that. Most men who rape get off scot-free, time and again, for years. When they are convicted, they frequently don't even lose their reputation,. never mind their liberty.

Oh, and this is nonsense, too. This happens all the time, and the men get away with it. It happens so much that many, many women wouldn't even bother to report it.

Have you ever been in a closely-packed crowd at a gig? Or in a heaving mass of dancers at a club? When I was young I would not go to these without wearing thick, tight jeans. There was a reason for this.

Disgraceful, should have got a custodial sentence, but then sexual assaults don't seem to get long these days.

Then we prioritise who we send to jail. Non-habitual, non-violent offenders probably not.
Those who sexually assault others? Oh, yes. They can have have some rehab when they’ve had some punishment.

That is an appalling lenient sentence. She should have been sent to prison for this. Disgusting.

Unless she has a penis she hasn't raped him according to the law (not that I think that it is right)
