To wish we could have long term govt plan rather than short term party politics?

When I am Prime Minister I will make sure that I:

  • invest in education, so that vocational training and academic skills will be equally valued; this will make sure that we 'grow our own people' - most private companies recognise this as the best way to recruit, retain and motivate staff; this could and should be encouraged across eg NHS and teaching
  • I will reduce the admin load on public sector staff like nurses and teachers et al so that they can actually do the job they are trained to do
  • look long term, eg 20 years plus at military, transport and economic needs

OK so it's pie in the sky, it's not going to happen, but why can't we have long term thinking rather than short term political gain? Surely it would be better for everyone.

Amen to that OP 👍👍

I'm sooo bloody sick and tired of politicians' promises, point-scoring and competing with each other!! We need someone who talks sense - promise me you'll go into politics one day??
