To think after 2 months in primary 2/y1 DS should have a reading book sent home?

Started primary 2 in august and hasn't had a reading book home. Hardly any homework at all in fact.

Have a parents night next week and wondering if I should raise the lack of reading book or whether its normal?

His primary 1 teacher before the summer holidays told us to make sure he was continuing to read over the summer a few times a week, which I've continued to do, but I would of liked to have a school book home too.

We get at least one new book a week so I’d raise it.

My ds in yr1, gets 2 books every week, 6 spellings to learn for a test every Friday and other homework that could be discuss autumn, practise number writing 1-10. I thought this was excessive at first but after speaking to colleagues with dc in different schools it appears to be the norm
