And found these www.next.co.uk/g212272s1#161679

AIBU to think they are the weirdness thing ever?!

OP posts:
Ttbb · 07/10/2017 23:23

YANBU-also have they been photoshopped onto the model in the last photo?

SoPassRemarkable · 07/10/2017 23:29

Topshop have some nearly exactly the same. Looks like sock boots will be on trend this season!

AlexaAmbidextra · 08/10/2017 00:42

What are they for? I don't see the point.

snippan · 08/10/2017 01:06

My primary teacher had a pair of white ones in the 70s AllToadsLeadToHome Smile
but as I recall, the leg bit was actually a sort of sock and the shoe was separate.

usersos · 08/10/2017 07:02

I can't believe how harsh you all are. Everything mn'ers hate on here I either own or don't dislike. I'm so glad I wear what I like and not what you guys do

WhataHexIgotinto · 08/10/2017 07:16

These are everywhere at the moment. My friend bought a pair of black ones and looks like she's wearing a high heeled onesie when she's wearing black jeans and a black jumper. But she loves em so fair do's.

Acornantics · 08/10/2017 07:25

I was rather taken with some Hotter heeled boots in the weekend supplement yesterday, deep navy blue suede, pretty gorgeous...shall I shut the door on my way out?

Is it all over for me at the tender age of early 40s?

LookMaAStone · 08/10/2017 08:13

*@usersos don't worry, if I was reading a thread about people loving these I would be thinking the same as you, that I'm glad I wear what I like! You'd probably hate what I wear Blush

OP posts:
usersos · 08/10/2017 08:17

I don't hate what anybody wears, and I'd certainly never dream of starting a thread about it!
I just think it's a shame that people can't wear anything they like without people commenting on it. It's ok to not like something just keep it to yourself

allegretto · 08/10/2017 08:19

So.....I'm the only one that quite likes them, then? Grin

noeffingidea · 08/10/2017 08:38

useros people can discuss whatever they want on here. Why should people 'keep it to themselves'? Does that go for books, films, TV shows as well? Do we have to pretend we like everything?
Agree, OP, they look shit. Along with most of the other stuff currently sold as fashion - the frilly ruffly shit, the bardot tops, the cold shoulder tops, the prisoner cell block H dresses, etc etc.

usersos · 08/10/2017 08:48

Noeffingidea ......of course you don't have to like everything, that would be utterly ridiculous. I just think it's a harsh that people choose to post on a forum that they "hate" something and totally ridicule a piece of clothing , that someone reading might be wearing at that time

noeffingidea · 08/10/2017 09:04

usersos it's a forum though. That's what forums are for, for people to express their opinions. It's not as if people are going up to random people in the street and saying 'your boots suck'.
If you only want to read positive opinions about a subject then you're better off sticking to appreciation threads only.Or just don't open threads that have certain words in the title if you think you might not like certain opinions.

SoupDragon · 08/10/2017 09:14

I'm so glad I wear what I like and not what you guys do

What do "we" do then? I wear what I like and it's not those nude sock boot things in the first link. Other people ar, of course, going to have different tast pens to me, it would be rather dull if we all liked and wore the same thing!

If I like something I wear it. If I don't, I don't. What do you do that's different?

gamerwidow · 08/10/2017 09:24

I’ve sent loads of these in the ‘cool’ shops recently. It goes to show what a racket fashion is 5 years ago these are what the mumsy mums might have worn now you’ve got all the young kids wearing them Grin

lalaloopyhead · 08/10/2017 09:24

At first look I thought they were quite Mary Poppins-ish, and I didn't even see the foot in shoe thing until you all mentioned it and now I can't see anything else!!

Sock boots were a thing about 10-15 years ago (can't remember quite when) though knee length then. I had various pairs including a deep red patent pair which i thought I looked amazing in - hooker springs to mind now!

Lweji · 08/10/2017 09:33

Didn't know that Buffalo Bill also had a go at boot fashion.

usersos · 08/10/2017 09:54

You're right....your opinions matter. Mine don't

fantasmasgoria1 · 08/10/2017 09:59

I have some in burgundy but they are platforms heel velvet ones and they look nice!

LovelyPrep · 08/10/2017 10:00

Hahaha at those denim boots being in a site called "I saw it first" as if they're highly coveted. I csnt think of any occasion that would cause you to think "Yes...tonight is the night for my thigh high ripped denim peep toe boots.."

Lweji · 08/10/2017 10:01

I just think it's a harsh that people choose to post on a forum that they "hate" something and totally ridicule a piece of clothing , that someone reading might be wearing at that time

It's been done for ages with mum boots, for example.

For about everything that we do or wear there will be someone on MN who will ridicule it or hate it.

noeffingidea · 08/10/2017 10:09

usersos what are you on about? Everyone's opinions matter equally. Which is not much at all on an internet forum.
Is this your first time on an internet forum, or something? If you think it's too harsh then don't read these threads. I'm sure there are plenty of forums where people only say nice things about clothes. Perhaps a forum devoted to fashion? This isn't one of them, because many people don't really follow fashion and if we don't like something we're going to say so.
People endlessly criticise uggs and maxi dresses on here, I wear both of them. I've never once criticised anyone for expressing their opinion.

usersos · 08/10/2017 10:32

I know it's a forum and people can post whatever they like. My post was that I wish people weren't so bitchy about what other people wear or ridicule items of clothing. Just my opinion. I'm struggling to find any threads on here which aren't taking the piss out of fashion tbh
Enjoy your Sunday everyone xWink

HateSummer · 08/10/2017 10:34

Eew they make me feel sick too. Horrible. Maybe they look better in real life Confused

TheMightyPigsbum · 08/10/2017 10:48

I quite like the style of the boots but the colour, which makes them resemble amputated feet in court shoes, is really odd and make me feel a bit queasy...
