to actually respect Kim Catrall for this?

Kim Catrall is being criticised for not wanting to do Sex And The City 3 and has been very vocal on social media that she just didn't want to go back to the character.

Half the cast are publicly slagging her off for it and many 'fans' too.

She's 61! She's openly said she doesn't fancy playing that character again and I can't say I blame her - she also agreed that the last film was...not great.

I'm surprised at the vitriol being aimed at her for it. It's very un-sexandthecityish really.

What does everyone think?

I love her in Sensitive Skin, it's a wonderful series. I don't blame her not wanting to be involved. The films were terrible.

I’ve seen her in a couple of plays and she was wonderful. I imagine the SATC royalty payments allow her to do what work she pleases now, and that couldn’t possibly include a third film.

I dont think so sayso. There were a couple of scenes in the films from their younger days but not a series that I know of.

She and SJP have never got along, and that's fine. I do love SJP though as once I accidentally spilt half a glass of wine over her (!) and she couldn't have been lovelier about it. Warm, chatty, genuine.

So I've always liked her since then. But yeah, the SATC films are awful rubbish.

She's great and I absolutely think she's doing the right thing. I hope she doesn't give in to the bullying by the other actors.

I love Kim AND SJP. (Anyone ever seen The Family Stone - check it out, it's ace!) Also like the cute brunette out of 'deck the halls.' I am indifferent to the other one, as I have never seen her in anything else.

I think SJP just seems so self centred. Apparently the fans were so vocal about wanting another film? I doubt it. She produced a TV series which focused on her as a main character (and she isn't a nice person in it either), she publicly bashed Kim on more than one occasion and just seems so delusional. No one cares about a bunch of 50+ year olds cashing in on the same old crap. Carrie and big will fight. Samantha will have sex. Charlotte will be prissy and upright. Miranda will be sarcastic and put Steve down. It's so bored now! The formula does not work.

I 100% believe they will resurrect SATC and kill of 'Samantha'. I don't think SJP could help herself!

I thought the issue was not so much that she said no (thank goodness!) but more that the rumours are saying that she was in negotiations right up until this Summer about doing the 3rd film and then because her demands (whatever they were) werent met, she declined the role.

Meaning that other cast members, script writers, crew etc , all else involved who had agreed to do the movie and were hanging on and putting off their own other projects waiting for her to decide ended up getting their hopes and employment dashed because she had essentially led them on thinking she would do it if her demands were met.

I think it was the right decision. I quite liked the first film but the second was dire. I think it's time to let the SATC franchise lay to rest.

See, if Sex And The City had ended with the TV show, I'd be totally against a film being made today. But now the franchise has been 'tainted' by the films there's nothing to lose really. A third film would have hopefully ended things on a better note than SATC2. And it would be nice to see the characters one last time. But I can also understand why Kim Cattrall wouldn't want to be a part of it.

That's what some papers are reporting Stray but Kim said she said no to the third film last year and had no demands.

Samantha had breast cancer in the series. Maybe SJP will bring that back as excuse.

I don't mind the first film but the second one is one of the worst films I've ever seen. I don't blame her for not wanting to do it.

They couldn't find enough to keep me entertained throughout the first 2 films.

SATC2 was horrific i dont blame Kim for not doing 3 we had menpause Samantha shagging and flushing on repeat it was embarassing and not a reflection on how good satcused to be,andas for castmates slagging her off Hmm

SATC Films were pretty dire. Especially number 2. It was racist and cringe and just hideous.

Didn't SJP have a falling out with Sharon Horgan when filming Divorce, a series that Sharon wrote? Maybe she's not as swee and innocent as she wants us to believe.
