To pick up a parcel at 8.30pm?

Just got an email saying my parcels been delivered to a neighbour. I don't know them, quite a few doors down.

I'm not home from work till 8.30pm. Is this too late to knock to collect? I realllly want it, but it's not massively urgent.

AIBU to knock? Happy to be led by opinions so don't flame Grin

I work from home often and I will happily take in my neighbours' parcels anytime. I'll even take them over if they haven't managed to collect. I don't understand why it's such a big deal to be neighbourly.

I'm a sahm and will take in parcels if I'm in. I very rarely am though as my kids go a but feral if cooped up all day so between playgroups, park and just general outings we often miss parcels. I'm happy to go to the post office to pick them up but 90% of the time my neighbor takes them in, the other 10% is when they aren't in. I get them a nice box of chocs or biscuits at Christmas to say thanks

C8H10N4O2 (or may I call you C8H?) you make me laugh so much!

Absolutely fine imo. Our neighbour doesn't get in til gone 10pm, knows I have a young chikd and still rings the bloody door bell at 10.30 and later - that is annoying!

RhiannonOHara · 07/10/2017 10:53

why don't you order it for the day you are going to be home most the day?

You can't generally specify delivery day unless you pay a huge delivery charge.

Wellandtrulyoutnumbered · 07/10/2017 11:16

OP

You need the DPD app. You can reschedule deliveries or arrange pick up from designated place (ours is a local halfords) Great if working.

Also look up the new collection points that have sprung up. I can collect ideas from a local spar. They open from early to late and less than a five minute drive.
