It’s high time we changed our mattress. We’re waking up sore in the morning, we’ve changed our mattress for the one in the spare room which is better but not good in any way!!

I think our max budget is around 1k maybe 1.5k if it had bells and whistles and was perfect?

So can you/ would you recommend yours? If so what brand? If not what is your dream bed? :)

I was lucky enough to get to trial a Hilary Devey Duvalay mattress recently. They really are very nice. I think all the trialists thought so. The feedback thread is here

We've got a Hypnos one. It's amazing. All aches and pains from our previous rubbish mattress disappeared within a week. They're pricy but worth it.

NormHonal · 04/10/2017 22:02

Eve!!!!

Autumnchill · 04/10/2017 22:03

We were just having this conversation tonight and I said 'I'll look on MumNet, there's bound to be a thread!'.

He's narrowed it down to Eve based on reviews and that it doesn't need rotating but the Simba one does (God, I'm bored already of hearing about them!). Now he's just shouting out random names, Emma, Lisa gets a good review!

House of Fraser have the Eve and I've just got a 10% discount for tomorrow so I think that's the one we're going for unless anyone knows of anywhere that are selling them cheaper?

We have a Hillary Devey Duvalay one - it's bloody amazing. Most comfortable mattress I've ever had.

It's this one

Eve!

I can send you the code for 10% off on their website if you like

Autumnchill · 04/10/2017 22:14

That would be great! Thank you

Haffiana · 04/10/2017 22:22

Vi Spring. It is 15 years old now and just like new. I expect it to last my lifetime. No sagging, no lumps, just blissfully perfect night after night.

WineIsMyMainVice · 04/10/2017 22:28

Leesa!!! It's amazing! 100 day return guarantee. And you can always find vouchers for between 50-100 off on the internet. Think we paid about 550 for a double. it's so amazing I look forward to going to bed!

BlondeB83 · 04/10/2017 22:31

Ours is Hypnos, £1700 but worth every penny. Our spare one is also Hypnos but that was around £800, also very comfortable.

pinkbats · 04/10/2017 22:31

Hi
We have a Hypnos one. We went to the show room which was miles away from anywhere and tried all the options. I have to say apart from the Shock at the prices it's worth it. We didn't go top range instead went for something middle. But it's the best mattress I've ever slept on. One thing thought - the shop assistant said that it's a mistake to think you need a hard / firm bed for support. Unless you're quite a large person you can try soft to medium and it will really support your back. We have a medium soft and it's brilliant.

minipie · 04/10/2017 22:43

I read (maybe on here) that the Eve, Simba, Leesa ones are good at the start but don't age well.

Anyone had one for 1/2 years or more?

DesignedForLife · 04/10/2017 22:51

Don't buy sealy international collection. Worst mattress I've ever slept on and it cost £1k and we can't afford a new one.

HundredYearOldMan · 04/10/2017 22:52

We’ve had our Eve for a year, still feels as good as when we bought it!

It’s the only mattress that hasn’t given my OH a bad back.

HidingBehindTheWallpaper · 04/10/2017 22:53

Just hanging out to see what people say.

screwsloose · 04/10/2017 22:53

@DesignedForLife that’s one of the ones we actually liked in the shop but it was really top end of budget with not much to show for it!

That’s so rubbish that it’s crap! Will they not let you return?

Cadenza1818 · 04/10/2017 23:04

I'm also on the hunt for recommendations for mattresses! We spent nearly 1k on one from dreams. Absolutely awful! So don't go there. 😀

screwsloose · 04/10/2017 23:21

@Cadenza1818 which one did you go for? I’m going bed shopping tomorrow. DH isn’t interested.. yay!

meltingmarshmallows · 04/10/2017 23:26

Tempur cloud, best thing we’ve bought!

Noideaatall · 04/10/2017 23:28

I'm ashamed to admit I've had a Feather and Black one for more than twenty years. It's still as comfortable as the day I bought it. IKEA Hasselback needs replacing now, ten years later and hasn't been used nearly as much. But it was a lot cheaper!

Pumpkintopf · 05/10/2017 00:06

@Noideaatall , ours is from Feather and Black back when F&B was the iron bed company! Blooming brilliant and has lasted amazingly but I think after 17 years time to replace it now Blush
