With no sn should be able to put on a pair of trainers? not expected to do laces, simply just put on. Was 3 in March.

I agree with you OP. It’s not normal to not be able to put on shoes at 3 - whether they do on the right foot however is another story!

If you've got a baby there's a reasonable chance that they aren't because they want a little bit of attention.
Either try bigging up how wonderful it is now they're big and can do their own shoes, or just quietly do it.

For what it's worth, I think at that age it's mostly about wanting to, and most (but not all) can do it if they're determined enough. Dd2 was born without her hand and wasn't going to be defeated by socks and hence could put them on herself far younger than either dd1 or ds who weren't as determined.
