That is all!
Opinions please.

Great that someone so young is interested in the world around them and the politics which affects each and every one of us.

What an odd question.

MOIST · 03/10/2017 09:33

I'd blame H. And then boom us in for much needed family therapy.

EmilyReallyKnowsHerStuff · 03/10/2017 09:34

🙄

elevenclips · 03/10/2017 09:34

I'd tell them that politics is a very very dirty business and best avoided entirely.

FluffyNinja · 03/10/2017 09:34

Hugely disappointed that they'd suddenly stopped being a caring and compassionate individual.
Torys are the party for the 'me, me, me fuck everyone else types' after all.

Trillis · 03/10/2017 09:34

I'd be pleased they were taking an interest in politics. But then I think there are good people across the whole political spectrum - most of whom want broadly the same thing (happiness/prosperity for all) but just have radically different ideas about how best to achieve that.

Katinkka · 03/10/2017 09:34

Proud

brasty · 03/10/2017 09:35

Up to him, uber lefty here, but children are individuals.
I would be surprised though as strong conservative supporters tend to be older.

EdmundCleverClogs · 03/10/2017 09:35

Disappointed. I'd have thought I'd raised them to be better people (and hope it was just a phase they were going through).

Kipi · 03/10/2017 09:36

I’d be happy that they were secure enough to seek a hobby(?) that would likely get them ridiculed among their age groups but they would do it anyway. To me that means that they’d get somewhere with their life and they had gumption.

StarUtopia · 03/10/2017 09:36

Proud.

PotteringAlong · 03/10/2017 09:36

I'd be pleased they were taking an interest in the country.

SquareWord · 03/10/2017 09:36

I'd be proud of them and do as much as I could to support them. Why would you not be pleased about a young person taking an interest in politics. It's much better than apathy even if you don't have the same politics!

Allthebestnamesareused · 03/10/2017 09:37

Their life, their choice.

CobwebKitten · 03/10/2017 09:37

It would depend why.

I'd be proud of a child who'd read the manifesto and decided they agreed with some of the core policies.

I'd be disappointed with a frothing thick racist.

dontknowwhatcomesnext · 03/10/2017 09:37

Wow. Some of these answers are astonishing. I lean to the left myself, but this idea that everyone who is a member of another party are all awful people is profoundly depressing (and, by the way, it's a part of the reason why we have ended up with people like Trump). Do you honestly, truly not know some very nice people who disagree with you politically?

mogulfield · 03/10/2017 09:38

I'm a conservative so would be fine with it... but I'd also be fine if my DS wanted to join the Labour Party. I find politics interesting so would be pleased if he showed an interest. It's a worthwhile pursuit. I'm a bit confused why you're asking us here. Why don't you speak to him about his motives and just support him?

Megabus · 03/10/2017 09:38

Like I had failed.

I would not be pleased they were taking an interest in politics. I would rather they had no interest; than to have an interest, have thought about it and decided that Conservatives, was the way to go. I would suspect grooming/brain washing from an as yet, unidentified source

BMW6 · 03/10/2017 09:39

Fluffy
So the nurses, doctors, firemen, policemen, Care support staff etc etc etc who vote Conservative or are members of the Conservative party are NOT caring and compassionate individuals??
Hmm

TrueSojourner · 03/10/2017 09:39

Very, Very proud and do everything I could to support them.

Whosthemummynow · 03/10/2017 09:39

I'd be disappointed with a frothing thick racist

Really? Because you think people who vote tory are? Hmm

Megabus · 03/10/2017 09:39

There is nothing thoughtprocoking or interesting about debating with a conservative

Wreckingball25 · 03/10/2017 09:39

I did when I was about that age Blush
I’m nice though! I volunteer with older people and animals and I voted Women’s equality in the last GE.

Natsku · 03/10/2017 09:39

Disappointed but I'd enjoy the dinner time debates like I've always enjoyed with my Tory sad.

HalloweenStar · 03/10/2017 09:40

I'd be shocked and disappointed if my sixteen year old son said this given that he's a Labour party member. He's doing Politics A-level so getting a rounded view of the political spectrum with out the need to become a self serving I'm Alright Jack tory
