To hate it when people try to give you their £1 for your trolley?

For some reason I dislike doing this. When you're putting your trolley back and people try to give you their £1 and you give them your trolley.

I don't want their £1, I want to keep mine.

It's happened today and the lady gave me 5 20p coins, in exchange for my £1 coin, so essentially I just gave her change. Only now I don't have my £1 coin (which I always keep in my car for the trolley), so I've now got to change it myself back to £1.

My routine is so finely tuned, that not having my usual pound in the car would be a huge faff for me. I shop at a rural supermarket, no banks, other shops nearby to get change, nothing between school run/my house/shop either, so, losing my trolley pound means driving out especially to re-source one! I am cashless, I literally never have cash.

Op.

Don't let the twats upset you.

There are some really unpleasant personalities knocking around these four walls sometimes. Just give them the credit they're due - which is none. Ignore, ignore, ignore.

I wouldn't give a flyings TBH, but daft getting precious over a squid.

"serious question, how much do trolley tokens cost?"

£1, but you are encouraged to put a bit extra in.

I have nerve damage in my hands because of the treatment for my serious illness. So I'd try to offer someone a £1 for theirs, so I don't struggle/cause myself pain.

From what I understand i piss a lot of people off by being fat and a slow walker, so I might as well try to find new reasons.

I got a token from home bargains the other day for 29p as I didn't have a £ coin and they wouldn't give me change out of the till

My husband has a 1€ coin in the car for trollies. You could always use that as an excuse.

Saying that, the euro got accidentally spent in France this year when I was clearing out the change to spend.

Want to swap a euro for a pound??
