to ask whether ultrasound scans on a Sunday are typical?

You normally only get them week-days. Wondering why you'd get an appointment for a Sunday? Is the NHS trying to catch up on backlogs or something?

Several hospitals give weekend appointments for scans etc. Recently took my DM for one in a Sunday afternoon. I didn't have to take time off, I got a disabled bay in the car park and we got seen straight away. Made it much easier for DM and I

I had a MRI scan on a Sunday evening once, was told it is to get waiting lists down.

DD got an appointment letter for a bladder ultrasound this morning, its for next Saturday, 8 30 am. Considering she was only referred this week, I'm quite impressed.

Hospitals are a 24/7 service , I've had an MRI on a Sunday a couple of years ago .
