Why can I not find a nice reasonably priced pair of boots for DD?

She needs some boots for the winter. She likes brown or grey, and ankle boots rather than knee high ones. I'd like them to have supportive soles, ideally be waterproof and cost less than £40.

We've never had a problem finding shoes or boots before but now she's size 1 or 2 and all the styles she likes only seem to go up to size 12. Sizes for older girls (she's eight) seem to all have really thin soles and be glittery and animal prints which she doesn't like. She likes these and these but they don't go up to her size.

Where is a good place to try? We've been to Clarks (£££!), Next, M&S, Sainsbury's and Primark.

Doc martens?

LovelyPrep · 27/09/2017 17:13

My two have Doc Martens for winter but they were slightly over your budget. I think we got DD's for £50 but they're really hardwearing, she's really comfy and DM's sell on well if they're in okay condition.

These?

You can get spray on waterproofing stuff for suede.

Lands End?

Next, Asda, Tescos, Sainsbury's I've had boots for DD from all these over the years, always been happy with them.

Boden. There's always a 20% off code.

Next do some nice kids boots so do river Island.

Schuh and asos often have stuff in the sale section.

TK maxx and mandmdirect can be great for previous seasons Doc martens. My DD and I circumvent the breaking in stage with shoe stretching spray and scrunched up newspaper

Thanks all. I was looking at Doc Martens (I lived in them as a teenager) but they all seemed a bit expensive for something she'll grow out of before next year. But will look in the sale sections.

I was going to say Dr Martens but they are £60. My daughter has had them nearly every year and I really rate them . Timberland also do lovely brown leather Chelsea boots etc but they are the same price .

CodLiverOil556 · 28/09/2017 20:42

I just bought these from Matalan and DD loves them

They're exactly the kind she likes ILoveKermit but like most of the ones she likes they only go up to size 12 unfortunately.
