Quick - out of date steak pie - yay or nay!

In the oven but dated 22 Sep - it'll be fine won't it!

oouff...i might haver a bit about a pie that out of date! Assuming it smelt fine and the filling isn't fizzing out and trying to escape the oven and it still smells fine when cooked then I'd probably give it a go.

was the pastry not a bit iffy looking before it went in the oven?

Mmmmmm. 4 days past it's date is pushing it a bit.

How well has it been stored?

My fridge is very cold (2deg) and if it had been stored there for the past week or so, yes I might eat it, but I'd probably cook it a bit longer and make sure it's very hot throughout.

If it smelt ok, I'd have cooked and eaten it.

I think it'll more than likely be fine. If it tastes at all funny, don't eat it.

I'd eat it, but I have cast iron guts. I drank the tap water in Mexico and lived to tell the tale!

I wpuld crush it under my foot, burn it and bury its remains before fumigating the house and booking an appointment with my GP.

I might feed it to DH (strong constitution) but not the DC or me.
Btw - I do like DH.

People are way too funny about use by dates. If it looks ok and smells ok, it is ok.
Things don't start deteriorating at midnight on the date on the pack.
