The two adopted children were Tansy who was mixed race, and little Teddy who was Chinese. Mysteriously they disappeared from the later books.

I want to know what's going on with Topsy's hair.

I shouted at the Telly when Topsy woke up on the mor big of the first day of school...with her hair in perfect neat bunches still.

Got lots of the 70s books. In the really early ones, Mummy always wears a smart hat and white gloves when she goes out!

It's one of the main reasons I'm glad that DD has 'grown out of' CBeebies (although Peppa and Ben and Holly still make regular appearances). I think it's because the twins are actually about 23 in real life that it annoys me so much. Or the smugness. Actually, just all of it.

In T & T's Friday Book (their 1970s masterpiece), they go to a Fancy Dress party as gypsies. Mummy mixes a paste of cocoa powder and water and puts it on their faces to darken them. When they're at the party they have a white ring round their mouths where they've licked the cocoa off.

I had T&T go to the seaside book as a child (late 70s/ early 80s) and they both received handmade knitted fisherman jumpers from someone!? (Not seen this one on CBBC....)

There was a 70s snowy day one where they got a shovelful of snow and tipped it down the neck of Tony Welch. They had a bit more about them in those days.....

I'd love to tip a shovelful of snow down the neck of TW! Has GOT to be more interesting than watching some block paving being laid...

The mum did have a minor freak out when the reception teacher came to visit. She had crazy eyes when Tim wouldn't come downstairs.

Kind of wish they'd do a teenage version. Does Topsy get high every weekend while getting pissed down the park? Does Tim still really miss Tony Welch? Has Joy got fed up with the irritating dad and shacked up with a younger stud?

Just had a google to see when the next series will be out. (Kids love it) looks like the actor and actress that play T and T are now 12. I kind of think there may not be another series as surely they'll be far too old now.

You're right about the fireman dad though, episodes with him are nearly tolerable
