Wtf?! This programme makes me want to stick hot poker's in my eyes. The perfect family everything is so perfect it makes me want to puke. WIBU to throw my tv out the window right now?! or at least change the channel

I agree its not quite what I expected. If I recall correctly the mum did get angry a few times in the books (which we love btw) but I don't recall that in the tv series. It seems very toned down and pc.

Joy is definitely on something to keep her mellow, she has that weird laugh, at like really unfunny moments

I loved the T&T books as a child growing up in the 70s. I remember the swimming one they got this amazing looking lollipop at the end if the swimming race.

Fast forward to now and the modern books give them all a sticker or something for taking part. Sod the sticker....I want the enormous multicoloured lollipop 🍭

The Famous Five call their parents Daddy and Mother, which is even worse.

It irritates the shit out of me. Unfortunately, my dts love it. Dtd asked me one day "is it twintastic mummy?".

Dts chose "topsy and Tim get nits" from the library the other week. That was awful.

The actors are not twins but why should they be? Boy/girl twins are never going to be identical anyway.

The house is always a tip and the kitchen often has stuff on every surface. I find that bit to be realistic!

My 4 year old loves it, especially the hospital storyline which always seems to come on when he is about to have one of his regular hospital admissions. I find it really annoying though.

My DD was obsessed when she was 3/4. Wanted to be Topsy and wanted her older brother to oblige and just be Tim. I hated it then and weirdly miss it now. The kids are probably about 14 by now.

I read that as you guessing that your OWN children were "probably about 14". Very relaxed parenting.

Loved the books as a kid. Now I just can't get that opening song out of my head!

I cannot stand Topsy and Tim. Especially Tim. I do t know what it is about that kid but he really annoys me. And the Theme tune. Oh god the theme tune.

I used to love the books, my favourite was Topsy and Tim and the foggy day. The TV show has sort of ruined it all for me

I think it took them about 10 years to FINALLY move house!!!

I have an original book. Topsy and Tim go to a fancy dress party with a friend dressed as a box of matches. Another story they go for a day trip with their uncle in his side car and he stops for a smoke. Brilliant !
