To ask if you had a forceps delivery wit 1st baby did it mean the same again for subsequent deliveries?

Had a slightly traumatic birth with my 1st that ended with forceps in theatre as he was stuck and heart rate dropped but everything was fine in the end.
Noone knows what will happen next time but just looking for abit of advice or your experiences if you had forceps with your 1st delivery was the 2nd any easier or did it end the same way?

Forceps and a very traumatic birth for DS1 (7lb15oz), another forceps but slightly less traumatic birth with DS2 (9lb10oz) but he ended up with a broken collar bone Sad

Both 16 hour labours.

DS1 was a 36 hour labour, which ended with failed ventouse followed by forceps (and the possibility of a c-section if the forceps didn't work straight away). DS2 was out in under two hours, with no intervention at all other than a couple of paracetamol (not because I'm hard, just because there was no time for anything else!). I hope it goes well for you OP - my first labour was a pretty traumatic experience, but the second went so smoothly that it felt like a healing experience for the first.

I'm amazed at all these 'my second just fell out' stories! Big baby + forceps + episiotomy that healed really badly, all did so much damage I've been told to have a CS next time :(

My first post:) 30 hour labour with my first daughter. Epidural, forceps, episiotomy. Was really traumatic. She was back to back. Took a long time to recover physically and mentally. DS is six weeks old, precipitous labour, ended up having him on the bathroom floor. Just me and my husband. It was an amazing empowering experience (and a bit terrifying!!). He came 6 minutes after my waters broke. Thankfully I had been practising hypnobirthing and that helped keep me calm. Good luck op.

User, my 2nd flew out in some massive contractions, lol. But if you have serious damage, I'd take the CS. Prolapsed etc are no joke!

First was forceps. Huge baby.
Second one slipped out in 2 pushes (big but not huge baby)

I was scared in my second labour, but it was much, much easier. Super quick too.

Pregnant with my third now, I'm nervous again of course...
Instrumental delivery really damaged me with episiotomy etc.Sad
