ShockShock

Seems like 5 minutes ago it was the "year 2k" and I'm only in my 30s! Where has this decade gone?

In just over 2 years we will be coming into 2020. The "20s." I associate people saying the 20s with flapper girls, not something I will be living in 100 years later. It all seems surreal to me!

Help! I never thought I'd live to be this old!!!

BridgeOverBubbledWater · 24/09/2017 18:47

It's odd isn't it. To me 2007 was only a couple of years ago...

DH and I were talking about this the other day. When we are really old and young 'uns ask us about the 20s, I'll probably say I wasn't alive in the 20s because I will always associate it with the 1920s. I can't get my head around us going into the 20s.

No no no.

My cousin invited me out for a retro night at a club in our hometown. It was music 99-01.

I nearly fucking shriveled up and died. In my head that music was out 2 years ago at best

BridgeOverBubbledWater · 24/09/2017 19:13

99-01 music was great! It does seem weird when "vintage " music is from the 90s HmmGrin

In a couple of months, millennium babies will become fully fledged adults!

Cripes. Where does time go?

Butterymuffin · 24/09/2017 19:41

ARGH. It has hit me hard this year, with a number of 20th anniversaries of things like Diana's death, New Labour landslide etc, that the 90s is now quite a long time ago. A historical period. To me it feels very recent still.
