AIBU to wonder if I need to buy a HPT tomorrow?

Hello!

First post on Mumsnet, but joined a few years ago.

To avoid drip feeding (and apologies for the length 😳):

I got the Copper IUD fitted on the 1st of June after having our second baby in February.

My periods have been heavier ever since and I usually have 2-3 days of intermittent brown discharge/pink or red spotting before it starts properly.

I then have 1-2 very heavy days and around 5 days of medium-low bleeding until it tails of to nothing.

This month I had my usual run up and then only one heavy-ish day. In the previous three months I've had to change pad every couple of hours on the heaviest day.

I didn't experience that this time though and have had had mainly medium flow afterwards and then nothing.

It could just be my cycle settling down and getting used to the IUD, but I'm still feeling slightly crampy and the last few evenings I've felt a bit nauseous.

The main thing that's got me wondering is that I seem to be crying at the drop of a hat.

Everything seems to be setting me off at the moment: the Pampers Preemie advert, tucking my little boy in at bedtime, the clip just shown from the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games...and these are just a few incidences off the top of my head.

So I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has continued to have a bleed with the IUD but actually turned out to be pregnant?

Any input welcome, and thank you in advance 😊.

I would buy the test just to ease your mind, it did take me till the end of your post to work out what HPT meant. I was overly hormonal after an IUD but I cry at adverts all the time

An IUD is designed to not make you pregnant. Very rare if you are. You are having irregular periods which is probably more due to you're own body. If you would actually like them to be a bit more regular or non at all I would recommend the marina.

Sorry, I forget not everyone knows the acronym. Thanks for your reply. Think I will get one, as you say, to put my mind at rest.

I've got a non hormonal coil in, and haven't been this emotional/tearful before - without being pregnant or during the lead up to a period- which is why I've taken notice of it I suppose.

Thank you again x.
