Egg mayo sandwich argument

user1483644229 · 23/09/2017 12:36

First world argument...is it ever acceptable to have an egg mayo sandwich made with scrambled egg (plain egg nothing added except for the mayo) or should it be boiled egg? Yes seriously we are debating this....

Eat what you want, how you want! Please! Grin

My OH gives me grief sometimes about ways I make meals, or what I decided to have for a meal.
E.g. Left over curry for breakfast. I don't know why, but me having unorthodox breakfasts really gets his goat 🤣🤣
To me, food is food. Enjoy it.

Btw egg sandwich made with scrambled eggs is just a scrambled egg sandwich 😄

ineedwine99 · 23/09/2017 15:58

Boiled, made with salad cream and then red onion in top. So good!

SwedishEdith · 23/09/2017 15:59

Chopped boiled egg, mayo, finely chopped red onion and curry powder on lightly toasted bagel/bread with scrape of mango chutney.

FruBayerischOla · 23/09/2017 16:02

Hard boiled eggs - sometimes sliced (me) but mainly chopped (both of us)!

However, I like mine with Hellmans but DP likes his with Heinz Salad Cream and, sometimes, chopped onions too.

Neither of us can stand the other's choice of 'fillings' Grin

Bobbins43 · 23/09/2017 16:03

Boiled. What is this scrambled egg nonsense?

WelshMumof1 · 23/09/2017 16:09

Definitely boiled in a sandwich. Scrambled on toast.

userofthiswebsite · 23/09/2017 16:23

Boiled egg, no yucky mayo

DorisDangleberry · 23/09/2017 16:32

Scrambled eggs go on toast, not in a sandwich. Boiled eggs in sandwiches. Those are the rules. And if we don't obey the rules, anarchy reigns

goose1964 · 23/09/2017 17:09

Boiled in a sandwich, but scrambled eggs on toast

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 23/09/2017 17:45

Definitely hard boiled.

When I was a teenager, mum decided she could no longer be bothered boiling and shelling eggs for egg mayo sandwiches, and started making cold scrambled egg sandwiches instead - they were unutterably disgusting.

Ttbb · 23/09/2017 17:52

No

Auntiedahlia · 23/09/2017 18:21

Egg mayo sandwich with boiled egg and cress. On white bread.

Scrambled egg with a pinch of nutmeg on hot buttered toast with smoked salmon.

Redglitter · 23/09/2017 18:23

Scrambled egg sandwich sounds magic. Without the mayo though

anotherprosecco · 23/09/2017 21:43

Obviously boiled egg - but no mayo! Cannot stand it, I usually mash my egg with a bit of butter.

DorotheaHomeAlone · 23/09/2017 21:50

This is an amazing coincidence. I ordered my kids an egg mayo sandwich in a day out this week and got cold scrambled egg and marge. Absolutely inedible. Luckily the 'chef' was also serving food and must have noticed my stricken face the next time she came out. Switched it for ham. It was indeed vile. Envy

itreallyiswhatitis · 23/09/2017 21:52

Do you think it's only vile because it is not what you eggspect an egg mayo sandwich to be though?

bluebump · 23/09/2017 21:52

Definitely boiled egg with mayo. I love a fried egg sandwich but have never tried a scrambled egg one.

itreallyiswhatitis · 23/09/2017 21:54

In Hong Kong old style cafes, they have something like an omlette sandwich....It's delicious...brings back so many child hood memories for me.

BikeRunSki · 23/09/2017 21:56

I love a boiled egg mayo sandwich, but I have been know to make it with scramble egg for speed, especially if I have no other packed lunch ingredients in For me, the DC would rather stick burning needles in their eyes than eat eggs.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/09/2017 12:06

Hot scrambled egg, done right, is eggcellent and delicious, but cold scrambled egg is disgusting - not at all appetising.

Traveller104 · 24/09/2017 12:31

That’s how an egg sandwich is in Hong Kong... and they’re delicious! :)

Boiled!

SwearySwearyQuiteContrary · 24/09/2017 12:46

Boiled eggs, mayonnaise AND (to take it to the next level) a tablespoon of creme fraiche and some freshly chopped chives.

AdaColeman · 24/09/2017 12:58

Well if we are talking next level now, a slice or two of naice ham is a good addition to an egg mayonnaise sandwich.

I'm also a fan of hot omelette sandwich with mayonnaise and fried egg sandwichs.

MissBabbs · 24/09/2017 13:35

I egg, 1 dessert spoon mayo, 1 tsp salad cream. Some chopped tomato (no water seedy bit).

Salt and white pepper. Yumm.
