to wonder why police are at block of flats next door?

One officer ambling idly all morning at back of flats.
Another fella came out, went to boot of police car and pulled out two baby wipes. This guy is now eating a sandwich and talking to idle officer.
Would I be unreasonable to go out and idly inquire as to their intentions?

Why not! They can with tell you what is occurring or politely tell you to go away! Nothing ventured nothing gained!!!

I bloody missed some serious development. Police van just pulled out. Never saw it arriving. Police car still there. Can't see any officers. Going to nose again.

They've just left with what I can only presume are evidence bags, brown paper bags with a cellophane panel and 'police' written on it. Baby wipe guy was wearing a blue glove. Idle lad was all business on phone.
I'll never know what bloody went on.
