Have tried for a long time to get H to engage amicably - so has my solicitor. We are now going the court route but I am terrified of what might happen Shock, and hoping H decides to go the consent order route with me before the first hearing. It's not looking hopeful though as H has ostracised me completely and is furious.

Maybe the lack of response does not bode well GrinConfused.

I guess I am asking if anyone found the whole process not as scary as they thought it was going to be...

No experience but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Not sure anyone can advise based on what you have said as every case is different and judged on its own merits. The whole process is horrible though and you have my sympathy. My case was settled with a consent order and ex complied throughout. It was very scary waiting for it to be signed off though as there were several factors that could have scuppered it - but they didn't Smile.

Hope you get the result you want.

Not me but my parents had this when they divorced. My father would not engage with the process at all, my DM's solicitor had to serve him with court papers the night before the hearing to try to make sure he turned up. As it was, he did and it was totally painless and very quick.
