Ceebeebies is rubbish

Just got back from a weeks holiday in the UK with nearly 3 yo DS. Normally at home if the TVs goes on it's nick Jnr and his favourites include paw patrol, rusty rivers and blaze (the latter 2 quite educational imo!!) as well as princess Nella.

Being in a caravan we had no sky so one rainy afternoon we put on ceebeebees for a bit of a distraction and what a load of tosh!!! Can't believe teletubbies are still going and what the hell sort of trip is in the night garden all about? And don't get me started on the bloody Justin/Mr Tumble monopoly.... the man gives me the creeps!!

Am I the only one that finds it all insipid and twee......

@maxiflumo1

Mate, I'm appalled, APPALLED at your post...

but I'd probably have agreed with you up until the last fortnight when DD (19mo) has just got "into" it - meaning I have too.

Me and my Pet! So educational, never knew there was so much to know about keeping guinea pigs. Or stick insects.

Justin's House! Refreshes my BSL after 10 years of non use. Hoping DD catches on eventually.

Katie Morag! Allows me to hormonally blub over missing the Mither Country and allows DD to "know her heritage" Grin

I bloody love it. Plus subtitles and no adverts. Winner.

I adore cbeebees. We tend to only watch it on iplayer but it is lovely.

My pet and me. Down on the farm. Something special (I don't get the Justin Fletcher hate. We've all learnt makaton basics from him). I like Sarah and duck. Dd doesn't. Dd loves teletubbies. I hate Bing. Hey duggee seems ok. Maybe when she's older. I have a crush on Dr ranj's eyebrows.

Grandpa in my pocket is tosh.

The children's version of how it's made (proper mane is said above) is worth the license fee alone. It can entertain a 2 year old and a 32 year and a 55 yr old all together.

Beat that!

Pickleshickles · 16/09/2017 21:01

That's the wrongest thing I've seen in some time! Cbeebies is incredible and I'd pay twice the license fee for it alone.

The advert for profit laden shite on murdoch's evil empire can sod right off.

I was quite excited to get to watch show me show me again after a 6 year gap with my children! I love the random topics choice - "show me show me giraffes and car engines" type thing!

God I love show me show me. Its a pity its on at such a crap time. I refuse to switch the tv on until Baby Jake has ended. That programme gives me the worst earworm ever.

I do have the Octopus and Xylophone episode recorded so I can dance like an Octopus. (Disclaimer - I may do this when DD is at Nursery and I am working from home.)

I forgot about Magic Door. Love that too and its excellent for getting little ones up and moving especially if they have been in all day because of a bad cold or crappy weather. Plus now DD can spell D.I.S.C.O. Grin

The tadpole episode of hey duggee was great . Some programmes get on my nerves . My 6 year old is moving onto cbbc now .

daisypond · 17/09/2017 11:58

I did think that maybe the OP had a point about Paw Patrol being good. But I've just realised that I've muddled it up with Footy Pups - yet again, it's on CBeebies - which teaches the very young about ball skills - how to play football, cricket and the like.

PotatoPrint · 17/09/2017 12:13

Mine have grown out of show me show me. I loved it. And show me your goofy mooves!!

I found the season songs emotional...

I have a real soft spot for cbeebies.
