To not provide a jobs list

DP will be out of work come the end of the month unless he finds something new before then - nature of his work no fault of his won.

We have savings and are fine on my salary for a little while but he will need to find something new quickish.

He had 3 months of unemployment two years ago under similar circumstances.

Casually chatting about him being home (for at least a few weeks) I said it will be nice to have a tidy house dinner cooked etc. (obviously around job searching).
He said he was looking forward to a bit of down time but was happy to do a list of jobs/cook to my meal plan....

AIBU in thinking a grown man should be able to just do general household jobs without me having to make a daily list for him?

Or don't, and spend time and stress and effort yelling 'Just do it!'
and then being cross because it isn't done. Depends how long you want to spend being right about the fact an adult should know this stuff whilst the crap piles up around you.
You took him from his mother's nurturing and care and filled that gap by facilitating his inability and incompetence and doing all the 'mummy jobs.'So how is he suddenly going to know how to do stuff if it's always been done by magical pixies while he remained oblivious? Yes he can do it, but a list is a good boot up the bum and an unavoidable focus.
Missed it if you said, but if you have children, teach them this stuff before they leave home.

Its really grates me but equally if there isnt a list the cleaning doesnt get done.

I have a weekly checklist on the chalk board in the kitchen with a tick box ---- dh/myself tick it off when its done that way your not going through the tedium of writing a new list everyday.
