It has the 7th on it, so it's 5 days "out of date".

It's not been opened and has been kept in the fridge.... I'm contemplating having it for lunch with some buttered toast - but will it poison me?

Well there's no meat in it which is a positive. I suggest you open it and have a good sniff. If it smells ok, maybe risk it.

FooFighter99 · 12/09/2017 12:13

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Hopefully it's ok as I haven't brought anything else for lunch!

Do report back that you're still alive or I will be worried Grin

It may well have started to ferment, which would be very obvious and not taste good. Otherwise I’d bring it to the boil (even if the instructions say not to) and eat it.

Hope you are ok OP and don't have your head down a bucket.

Merida83 · 12/09/2017 21:09

Hope you survived it!

If it smelt ok I would've eaten it. Are you ok??!

As I constantly tell DD: best before does not mean poisonous after!
