... to ask which if these Minions wallpaper murals you like best, and what colour would you paint the other walls?

Hi all

We are moving our almost 2 year old girl out of the nursery and into a bigger bedroom. She is obsessed with Minions. I love wallpaper murals. We have a Toy Story one in the playroom that looks amazing. So I wanted to do one of these murals on one wall of her new bedroom and then paint the other 3 walls.

So I just want to know which you prefer and what colour you would do the other walls?

Lj- thanks, I actually like that design. This will sound really stupid but it puts me off with it being a wallpaper. Again with the kids wallpapers they always make them from really thin cheap paper (so my decorator says) and they just don't look as good. With the murals you usually get 2 or 3 options of the weight of paper so can get a really good quality one. I might reconsider though as I really like that design. Thanks so much! X

Could you not paint the walls a plain colour and get minion pictures in big frames with minion bedding and accessories
Because she may completely grow out of them in a years time so you'd have to re decorate or paint!
My little boy loves dinosaurs but I'm sure he will find something else in 6 months time so won't want to do his whole room just incase!

Also the second one is better, with yellow walls. even though they both make my eyes bleed. If you're going to go for it, you've really got to go for it!!

OP, I think it depends what furniture you are putting in front. If you have a big wardrobe for example then go for the 'crowd'.

What about not using a mural and just getting some stickers?

I like the crowd scene the most. Maybe a light grey paint on the other walls?

The second one makes my head hurt so big that one. Have you considered sonething a little bit more toned down. E.g.:

The room has built in wardrobes and so some other cupboards and drawers would go against the wall opposite the mural. The only furniture on the mural wall would be a cot for the next few months, then a toddler bed, all white furniture.

I agree that the one with the loads of Minions on is a bit much! So open to looking at others. I've tried wall stickers for the nursery and they looked really rubbish, but they may just have been a bad one that I bought, or maybe I didn't apply hem properly. I really have got my heart set on a wallpaper mural though I think!

Ttbb- I think that's the same one a previous poster mentioned, although from a different supplier. I love that design, definitely not as migraine inducing, but the reviews say the quality is crap. (As always seems to be the case with kids wallpaper unfortunately).

Can't help with the mural but I think the emoji is The Bull pub sign from The Archers! (Radio 4)

I spent days painting a toy story wall for my obsessed daughter. She loved it for 3 days until she decided she like hello kitty more 😂 She now has pale pink and hire walls with hello kitty stickers that I can easily change when she decides she likes something else!

The second one, I suppose. The first one is terrifying. I would paint the other walls blue and then I would paint over the mural too
You must love decorating OP if you're going to let very small children choose such specific whims!

If not , then neither.

Not the crowd one, it looks awful.

The other one could work really well with Ikea kids furniture- but you need to think about how the furniture will work with the mural.
I'd say lilac for the other walls.

TheITgirl - thanks I really like the designs on that website, they're much less offensive! On closer inspection though they're manufactured and shipped from China and take 7-40 days so I would be a bit dubious of ordering from them. Also the decorator starts in 1 week!

I think I'm leaning towards the one with the purple thingy on and very pale lilac walls.

I would go for the second one with pale grey or blue walls and curtains and a dark grey carpet.

Lettuce wrap, yes it is the Ikea kids furniture that we've got. We've got them multicoloured with white, pink and green doors - but you can buy sets of doors to change the colour if we needed to.
