Basically, i dont want an extra long birth plan as i feel it will be ignored, also i know that forceps/venthouse could be needed but i feel like they are more likely to avoid then if i just say no.
Is there anything ive forgotten?
Please excuse my writing xxxx

@Puddleducks - I didn't say the risk of uterine rupture was 2%. I said the risk of complications with VBAC is 2%.

I didn't have a birth plan as I knew I'd be induced, so would probably need an epidural - then if I had an epidural I didn't care how they got him out as long as he was ok.

I was right in the end. He got stuck, had a failed forceps and ventose then an emergency section.

OP there's no harm in writing a plan but don't beat yourself up if you have to back on any of it.

All 3 of my DC were delivered by forceps (with an episiotomy each time - you can imagine the wreckage of my undercarriage Grin). I found forceps fine, and in each case they were obviously needed and resulted in the baby being born pretty quickly - and safely. I don't think forceps is the worst outcome OP, if it comes to that. Good luck!

Most important thing is to keep an open mind. Good luck!!

Miaowthecat - I'm so so sorry to hear that, there is absolutely no excuse to treat someone like that.

Interested by the strong views on forceps. First child ended up being delivered by Kiellands forceps, he was back to back and they tried to turn him but "he came out facing up anyway" (my notes don't mention that bit, but that is what the doctor said as he delivered him). As pp have said, I was taken to theatre and the intention was forceps or if that didn't work section. I wanted a vaginal delivery and got one. I did have an episiotomy and a "bad" tear but recovery was pretty swift with no lasting damage. Second baby arrived without intervention.
