To think if you ask a question you should get a straight answer? Prostitute related.

Before we were exclusively dating I asked my now DP of a couple of years if he'd ever paid for sex or slept with a prostitute. This is something which is important to me.

He told me he had not. I found out last night that he had in fact received oral sex from a prostitute on three occasions on a holiday with friends ten years ago (long before we met).

When I said I was annoyed he had lied to me he told me he hadn't lied to me - he hasn't had sex with a prostitute and he didn't think I meant to include oral when I asked him the question. Hmm I mean seriously - am I being unreasonable to think if you ask your DP if he'd paid for sex, you actually mean to include oral sex?

DP says I'm being unreasonable and that he hasn't lied to me.

I'm not BU to be upset am I?

No you are not being unreasonable. He was being dishonest.

He lied. No doubt about it.

I'm with FuckYouLinda. I asked my DH when we started dating, not least because he works abroad alot of the time. I thought the answer would tell me about how he feels about women.

I was right- it did. He expressed revulsion at the thought of using a prostitute (he mainly works in places like Thailand) and expressed dismay at colleagues who do because of the economic coercive elements women face in those places. That told me alot.

Been together 15 years now, and it DID tell me alot. I have my issues with DH as we all do, but one thing I do know is that he is fundamentally decent who does not view women as commodities. Asking how he felt about prostitution was a bit of a gateway question- and would have been a deal breaker.

Do you feel revoleted if women use prostitutes? Or is the problem only around womans bodies?

Yes woman also pay for sex at a much higher rate than you would expect.(while not at as high frequency as men as apprently woman can get free sex mych easier then men...)

Yanbu I asked my partner the same question. Transpired he'd had multiple visits aside from the one he told me about 😒 excuse? "I was embarrassed"
