To think that Dior are way off the mark to employ Johnny Depp

Who does he appeal to?

Aftershave for wife beaters?

They also employed John Galliano.

I am baffled.

I would like to add that I was sooo disappointed when Johnny Depp was revealed at the end of JK Rowling's latest movie (sorry can't recall the name). Hell...she even bought Johnny Depp's Yacht and fiercely defended his casting! I'd rather have Colin Farrell. Hello...phonebooth. It looks like I won't be paying to watch the sequal once it's released and did the same thing for POTC.

BorisTrumpsHair · 09/09/2017 07:55

The recent Vanity Fair article about JD was fascinating. He has to make 3 x $20 million films a year just to break even. His lifestyle/ spending is wildly out of control.

Alittlepotofrosie · 09/09/2017 08:03

There's still no evidence though is there? This is like the thread about sean bean where everyone was wittering on about him being a domestic abuser and when asked for evidence all they could come up with was hearsay.

CinderellaRockefeller · 09/09/2017 08:30

I love Dior perfume, but haven't bought the new Miss Dior yet because him in the video clips saying "what would you do for love" puts me off. And I used to absolutely adore Johnny Depp and would go and see pretty much anything he was in.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 09/09/2017 08:34

It's so depressing how people defend violent men. There's video footage, photographs of her with bruises on her face and an assistant confirming that she was beaten.

But no, still not good enough for people. You apologist twats.

hasitcometothis33 · 09/09/2017 09:43

You hysterical twat

TheColonelAdoresPuffins · 09/09/2017 09:57

Have you read the huffpost article hasit?

hasitcometothis33 · 09/09/2017 10:01

Which huffpost article would this be? I don't see any such link in this thread.

What do you think of the civil/criminal process vs say, trial by media?

Lelloteddy · 09/09/2017 10:03

Yeah. Visiting sick kids in hospital means you're a great person.

As evidenced by the Jimmy Saville investigation. What a ludicrous defence of Depp.

Floralnomad · 09/09/2017 10:11

He is a revolting person , and added to which he looks really dirty and grubby so why anyone would employ him for advertising is beyond me .

ScarletForYa · 09/09/2017 10:12

I don't like the man. I do believe he abused Amber and probably previous girlfriends too.

And I don't buy his image either, he tries to look rock'n'roll but he just looks like a 'dressed up' smelly alcoholic.

TheColonelAdoresPuffins · 09/09/2017 10:15

The article op posted yesterday at 22.51.
Jimmy Saville wasn't tried in a court and found guilty. Do you think he was innocent?

TheNaze73 · 09/09/2017 10:17

Guess no one on here actually knows what happened.

He sells fragrance, he's hugely popular & bankable as a movie star & Dior clearly don't see him as brand damaging.

Alittlepotofrosie · 09/09/2017 10:19

Call me an apologist twat all you like. I just believe in the old fashioned concept of innocent until proven guilty.

BalletFlatsSaggyTats · 09/09/2017 10:23

I read the blind gossip sites, not exactly the most reliable source of information I realise but there was an article about Winona Ryder in there.

Allegedly:
Remember her going off the rails and being done for shoplifting? It was lauded as a reaction to her heartbreak over him dumping her.

This article said that they'd been high together and he'd been arsing around with a gun and threatening her with it, allegedly the gun went off and he shot her in her side, grazing her . Causing her injury but not serious.

Allegedly his people hushed it up, got her to hospital and she was months of rehabilitation and pain killers - resulting in an addiction and ptsd.

Speaking out would have blacklisted her, so she kept quiet.

I've previously adored JD, but there's so much about him being abusive that I don't believe it to be "gold diggers". I think Amber Heard is vile and was after everything she could get - career wise . Doesn't mean she deserved to be abused by him or called a liar by the media.

Alittlepotofrosie · 09/09/2017 10:29

You know you can't believe anything you read on gossip sites right? Winona is directly quoted as saying JD is a good man and he never abused her.

hasitcometothis33 · 09/09/2017 10:30

Might as well get Jeremy and his lie detector to sort this mess out

BalletFlatsSaggyTats · 09/09/2017 10:31

I'm so pleased you pointed that out Hmm

Alittlepotofrosie · 09/09/2017 10:33

Well perhaps don't admit to getting your facts off gossip sites then?

hasitcometothis33 · 09/09/2017 10:33

Someone needed to ballet

BalletFlatsSaggyTats · 09/09/2017 10:35

I dislike the idea that because someone is good looking, popular, a good actor and visits sick kids they can't possibly be a bad person.

Similar attitudes allowed Saville free reign for decades.

I also long for the time when Mumsnet wasn't full of victim blaming and male apologists.

KC225 · 09/09/2017 10:36

I was a fan but do believe Amber and watching him now seems grubby. Rightly or wrongly when a character is intrinsically linked to the actor aka Johnnydepp/Jack Sparrow it is hard to disassociate one with the other. I choose to switch off

BalletFlatsSaggyTats · 09/09/2017 10:37

At what point did I say it was fact? Read the first line - not the most reliable source of information.

As most of the opinion here is based on him being attractive and a good active, throwing a gossip site snippet into the equation is hardly bringing the level of discussion down.

hasitcometothis33 · 09/09/2017 10:38

He's guilty of a serious crime because he looks icky and he played a weird character in a film.

Pathetic
