To go the GP because of this...pic

I've always had mild acne on my face. Usually big angry spots that flare up every so often. I have a few scars because of them which I can cover with some make up. In the last few months I've been getting more spots/boils in random places. I can't squeeze anything out of them. They could even be small cysts as I can get hold of them and feel how big they are. In a week or so they gradually get smaller and almost disappear and I have discoloured skin left (which I assume will fade over time).

I know it's not urgent but I'm getting so fed up of these things appearing over my body randomly. They most usually appear in my groin area, behind my ears or in my neck.

Any ideas?

I've attached a pic of the latest one that appeared as a small spot a week or so ago and has now turned into a lump which I can get hold of.

OMG I am so jealous ... Do you have oily skin?

Where do they usually appear?

Coffeethrowtrampbitch · 07/09/2017 18:57

I'm on immunosuppressants and get more spots and abscesses as a result of poor immunity.
Could you be run down and have a vitamin deficiency, it can also cause this but it can also be as a result of illness so a visit to your GP to be sure would be a good idea.

TroysMammy · 07/09/2017 18:57

I would go because there could be some underlying issue. As a GP Receptionist I would say an appointment would be acceptable in this case.

trangpak · 07/09/2017 18:58

@sparklediamonds Jealous?!

Yes and ask for a decent acne cream like duac at the same time.

trangpak · 07/09/2017 18:59

@sparklediamonds This beauty is at the top of my inner thigh

I'd just put some TCP or Savlon on that.

trangpak · 07/09/2017 19:00

@Coffeethrowtrampbitch The only thing that's come up is that I have low iron. Not low enough to warrant iron tablets but was told I was very borderline?

I wouldn't unless it got a lot larger or was hot to the touch.

donajimena · 07/09/2017 19:02

I had similar on my back and shoulders. Definitely not 'normal' spots in my case as in they wouldn't yield anything and would take weeks to clear.
My GP prescribed zineryt which cleared them up completely.

This is my face currently Sad

I think @sparkle is a sporner and thinks that baby is going to pop!

I'd make an appointment with the GP, they can refer to Dermatology if necessary.

trangpak · 07/09/2017 19:03

@donajimena Thanks. I will ask

OP posts:
trangpak · 07/09/2017 19:04

@donajimena If I squeeze I just get a slight oily substance come to the surface.

"This is my face currently"

You have a lovely shaped mouth, trangpak (irrelevant I know, but I just thought I'd tell you).

Yes, do go back to your GP and try and get things sorted out. Even quite mild acne can be a painful thing to live with.

Ttbb · 07/09/2017 19:41

This is pretty standard GP stuff. I have been multiple times (albeit in a different country with real healthcare) for much milder acne as a teenager.

sparklediamonds · 07/09/2017 19:42

You need a hot flannel for that beauty on your thigh :)

Worriedrose · 07/09/2017 19:46

Hormonal acne tends to be like this. More lumps with nothing much in.
How old are you

Happydoingitjusttheonce · 07/09/2017 19:47

Sterilise a fine needle and push it in in a few places

Worriedrose · 07/09/2017 19:48

JESUS Christ I just looked on sporners corner

Have you tried the La Roche Duo skin care range, my skin was like yours op and has been transformed since using their products.

Mallowmarshmallow · 07/09/2017 19:51

ADish, I thought exactly the same about the shape of the OP's mouth.

DoJo · 07/09/2017 19:53

I had something similar and was referred to the density at the hospital. I really feel for you- is no fun at all having this kind of thing especially when they are painful as well as unsightly.

Boredomismyenemy · 07/09/2017 19:53

I started getting spots just like that, they were huge, red and hurt like heck. Never came to a head and eventually went leaving a discoloured patch. I worked out it happened if I ate anything containing palm oil, so stopped and now I'm back to my one a month usual spot. I've started using rosehip oil which I've noticed is fading the little scars.
