I'm dying to get into a good book so I'm looking for recommendations. My all time favourite is Gone With The Wind. I also love Wuthering Heights, Rebecca, Forever Amber, The Crimson Petal and the White...

Any recommendations?

Another vote for Life after Life by Kate Atkinson. I am an avid reader and this was one of the best books I've read!

Couple of years old now but, I loved "The Kind Worth Killing" by Peter Swanson.

I really like Withering Heights. I found a similar kind of feel in John Steinbeck's East of Eden and To A God Unknown, Kazou Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go and Harry's Tess d'uberville

The Help - Kathryn Stockett

The film was good, the book's even better. Easy read, cracking story.

Most of your favourites are some of mine. I second East of Eden - I seriously think you'd love it. Very strong female characters, debates about original sin, different generations - really excellent (and long) read.
I also like Susan Howatch, Deborah Moggach, Monica Dickens.

Also A Pale View of Hills by Kazuo Ishiguro is really good.
