To not enjoy a 'Sunday Roast'?

Is it just me who doesn't get the love for it? It's probably the most boring and bland meal there is. A massive lump of tasteless meat and boiled vegetables, smothered in gravy.

My DF insists he has to have one every single Sunday, but quite honestly I'd rather have a curry, or pizza, or slag Bol, or anything other than a roast fucking dinner.

Why are we so obsessed with having a roast dinner on Sunday in this country?

I think it's actually one of the easiest meals as the cooking is speed out and your not in a rush to get everything done. Throw meal in roasting dish, prepare veg, stuffing, batter then it's just down to timings. I set my oven timer and read or MN and drink a naaice coffee or cup of tea whilst I'm waiting for the next beep the throw the next bit on. Then it's a fabulous meal and best bit of all someone else has to load the dishwasher as you've 'worked so hard' preparing this lovely meal 😄

Not keen on Aunt Bessie's, by we love the Tesco Finest Goose Fat roasties and their Yorkie's as well. They also had a beef dripping roast potato a while ago, that was amazing.

I will admit I've stopped making yorkshire puds, I always used to make my own but just can't be arsed now and fresh or frozen read made are good.

However, cannot imagine buying frozen roast potatoes because it takes no time to peel spuds, parboil and just bung 'em in. besides which I'd have to buy in bulk for the quantity I need!

But gosh... I'm now hearing AuntBessie does dumplings?!!! Now you're talking! Love dumplings but haven't made them for years. Might try those!
