Been on holiday in Western France. There was a song on the radio in French all the flipping time which I really want to get hold of because it reminds me of a great holiday.

It's a modern tune, probably from this year. It's really bouncy. It's something about holidays (des vacances) and it's something like 'I'm taking a holiday' (prendre vacance) and he mentions 'la piscine'.

I have furiously googled and been let down badly by my French grammar. If anyone has the vaguest idea what it is I would be absolutely hugely eternally grateful. Would mean a lot to me to get hold of it.

Did it have a bit that went 'en vas aller a la plage'?

Definitely male vocals?

Maryslairs · 03/09/2017 13:08

Was in Portugal couple of weeks ago. It was on french music channel MCM. Reminds me of holiday xx😎😎

MargaretTwatyer · 03/09/2017 13:28

Definitely make. Definitely not Coci Caline. It's much cheesier, bouncy and more upbeat

The chorus is something like 'j'ai prendre vacance, j'ai prendre, blah blah more French, j'ai prendre vacances, j'ai prendre.

Or possibly 'Je prends des vacance in same way.

Think he mentions A 'voiture' too.

Try lyricfinder

CanaryFish · 03/09/2017 13:42

Could you look up the French Charts for when you were over there and see if anything rings a bell?

MargaretTwatyer · 03/09/2017 13:43

I've tried lyricfinder. I'm not certain about the grammar which means it's pretty much useless.

I've already looked up the French charts too with no joy. Noticed it only seemed to be on the radio in the area we stayed (Charante Maritime) and not driving there and back, so could possibly be regional.

Can't find your song but if this ends up an ear worm, I'm holding you responsible.

FYI, it's Je prends Mes/des vacances if that helps you google. (It didn't help me...)

AliTheMinx · 03/09/2017 23:40

I'm hopeful about the Louis Piscine song... Seems to tick the right boxes!!!

ProlificLurker · 03/09/2017 23:44

Have you tried asking Alexa/google/Siri/etc? "What's the song that goes.......?"

Might be easier as you say/sing the words rather than writing and trying to spell them

AngeloMysterioso · 03/09/2017 23:51

No idea about the song but for try future, Shazam is your friend!

intergalacticbrexitdisco · 04/09/2017 01:36

Google the radio station you are listening to and see if they have a playlist for the songs they have played that day.
