I've been trying to get fit for a little while (quite overweight and generally useless). Today I ran my first ever three miles without stopping. I felt so chuffed, I decided to treat myself to a bubble bath and glass of wine.

What I didn't realise is that, as I soaked and daydreamed, my husband could hear me narrating my post-win BBC interview with Gabby Logan when I win the London Marathon.

I'm too embarrassed to leave the bathroom.

And I second you having a medal. Shines a Star and sticks it on tato

knowsmorethansnow · 02/09/2017 22:31

Your awesome op for trying . Some times when I cook I pretend I'm on TV being Nigella.

LemonRedwood · 02/09/2017 22:36

OP, I love you a little bit.

I am often to be found being interviewed by Parky alone in my car about my amazing rise to fame at such a young age, followed by a fantastic career. The type of fame and career changes depending on my mood. It will be Graham Norton if I'm feeling particularly light-hearted.

I also talk to the camera (also known as the splashback behind the hob) and explain my steps to my millions of viewers every time I bake.

It will be Graham Norton interviewing*

Slimthistime · 02/09/2017 22:43

Well this an eye opener
I live alone and don't do any of these things or talk to myself....
I do twerk a lot though Grin

Thatsnotapotato · 02/09/2017 22:45

Wait, slim, what? You've never won an oscar???? I've won three, my proudest of which was for best musical score on my keyboard.

thenightsky · 02/09/2017 22:50

OP... you did the Parkrun didn't you? I know coz I did too and couldn't catch you!

Slimthistime · 02/09/2017 22:50

OP your list of achievements is inspirational Grin

No I've never won an Oscar. I don't even know what I'd say!! Better start planning. Mine will be for screenwriting Grin You can do the music!

UsedtobeFeckless · 02/09/2017 22:53

DP and l regularly discuss which fantasy characters we should channel in difficult situations ( he's having a bit of an Onion Knight period at the moment )

I say own it ... take your hair brush and interview him on how he supported you through your epic achievement ... Grin

ArcheryAnnie · 02/09/2017 22:56

You are magnificent, OP! Own it!

Thatsnotapotato · 02/09/2017 22:56

Well my finest moment is beating Adele to Best Album (MAJOR upset) following release of my self-titled debut.... but the marathon is a definite close second. I was also first woman to walk on the moon but following some dramatic events upon re-entry, it's not an experience I was happy to re-live for interviews.

nightsky I did!! Did you run in Devon?! I came tenth from last, that's why the marathon win is such a news-spinner. No one was expecting it....

McPie · 02/09/2017 23:19

Release your inner Mo you awesome runner Grin
Your 1st non stop 3 miles is an epic milestone that should be celebrated with a bubble bath, wine and tv interview!

Thatsnotapotato · 03/09/2017 09:51

Thanks ladies. Lovely DH spared my blushes by bringing me a glass of bubbly to toast my 'win'.

I have found my people!

I was on Graham Norton not too long ago, being interviewed about my incredible life-imitates-art journey of being unexpectedly cast as David Tennant's love interest in the fourth series of Broadchurch, and the two of us realising we were in fact soulmates.

I have never won an Oscar, but have cleaned up at Wimbledon a few times.

Thatsnotapotato · 03/09/2017 10:45

TheQueen I think I saw that interview! I had been on the week before recanting the challenges presented by filming a World War 2 biopic alongside Orlando Bloom whilst simultaneously training for a charity climb of Everest. My abilities truly know no bounds.

OP posts:
Talith · 03/09/2017 10:56

You are a legend OH. Grin

When we first met nearly 20 years ago STBXH let himself into my flat to overhear me answering Parky's interview questions about my novel and forthcoming film adaptation.

Thatsnotapotato · 03/09/2017 11:02

Talith pahahahhhaah!! but I'd expect nothing less from a Booker-prize winning novelist!!!

thenightsky · 03/09/2017 12:38

No, not the Devon parkrun. I'm more Lincolnshire way. I channel Paula Radcliffe as I cross the finish.

In reality I finished 296th this week. I think I need to retire from athletics and make money on the after dinner speaking circuit instead.

LouHotel · 03/09/2017 12:43

I tend to just have hypothetical arguments in the shower with my dh or boss ect...sometimes i then irrationally huffy with them in real life due to their imaginary response.

I also have exactly what we'll do if we ever win the lottery completely mapped out.

Threenme · 03/09/2017 20:09

thequeen that is completely unacceptable he was supposed to get together with Ellie! Can you seduce him in another show please?

liverbird10 · 03/09/2017 23:46

There's a hilarious thread along similar lines in the Classics section of the forum; it goes on for ages and made me laugh my are off.

liverbird10 · 03/09/2017 23:47
