Hi everyone.

In Florence with family for a few days from today until Saturday.

Any recommendations please on lovely places where we can have lunch or dinner for a reasonable price?

Thanks so much :)

Why not use trip advisor like everyone else?

Vivanda on Via Santa Monaca

We ate here when we went in the summer. DH and DS said their pizzas were lovely. I had the chicken and potatoes which was delicious - good job really as it was the only thing on the menu I could eat (cheese allergy - not a good thing to have in Italy Grin)

You didn't do any research?! YABU planning a holiday is part of the fun.

Gorgeous city. Buon appetito!

Da Settimo is not within central Florence but has really good seafood at reasonable prices. Worth the trip out for sure. I would eat there again if I ever returned to Florence.

Thanks everyone :)

I have done research, but just wanted to ask on here in case anyone had any further recommendations. Always nice to see on here if there's anywhere else that people have enjoyed.

Trattoria Sostanza, definitely. You'll either need to book or rock up just before it opens at lunch. Pollo al Burro is their famous dish, it's exceptional. I ordered a side of fresh porcini mushrooms too.

I also loved l'Osteria di Giovanni and Le Giostra. Go to Procacci too for a truffle sandwich and a glass of prosecco.

We ate at a place called gecko. Nice pizzas and they also had a resident dog

YABU for wasting a posting on AIBU that has no element of being unreasonable.

Il Latini is amazing - usually a big queue waiting to get in so book if you can.
Also for a snack and wine you have to try Proccaci- it's tiny but amazing. Fantastic range of wines and truffle rolls. It's very bohemian and authentic.

The central market has a food hall above where you can buy from small traders and eat at tables. Open in the evenings too. Great way to try lots of different things. Truffle pasta, mmmm

Frescobaldi on via dei magazzini- amazing food!

The fishing lab is awesome. I was here a few weeks ago and loved it

Osteria Santo Spirito. Best food in the entire city in the best square.
