DH agreed to buy his mums kindle on my Amazon account as we were buying one anyway for dd's birthday.
MIL informs me a few days later that until she registered it in her name she could see all my books.
That's right, ALL my books. Blush

AIBU to think that Amazon should ask you first before dumping a load of books on your new device. I will never live this down.

DH made sure it wasn't before we gave it to her and paid to turn off adverts. You register it as a child's kindle but weirdly it advertises adult books.

Phew! Panicking about one but then forgetting the other is totally something I'd do!

Amazon asks if it is for you or a gift. I guess in this case you DH didn't change from the default

But surely Amazon are asking the wrong question? The question should be something along the lines of: 'Do you want us to set the device up with your settings'?
