AIBU to be annoyed by people taking up all the rables

We have a lovely new play area near us which I take my DS's to often. However quite often a large group of people will have taken up 4 out of the 7 tables. With bags, kids and parents all spread out.
I am 8 months pregnant so much more miserable than usual but I just feel these people have a huge sense of entitlement. They often watch people come in, look round and then leave as no tables and don't offer to move.
DH thinks IABU if I ask them to move bags off a table or to have all kids at 1 table so I can sit down.

If they've taken up 4 of the 7 tables then there are still 3 available? Agree they shouldn't be clogging up a table with bags though

Bumdishcloths · 27/08/2017 12:32

I'm also 8 months pregnant - and I'd be kicking off at them Grin

Penelopeg · 27/08/2017 12:36

Yes they are rude and entitled. There's no way I'd be a martyr and just leave though. Just approach a table and say "do you need all these seats? Can you move your bag so I can sit down?"

Winterview · 27/08/2017 13:03

I would just move the bags/coats and sit!

LuLuuuuuuu · 27/08/2017 13:24

What Winterview says .

Lurkedforever1 · 27/08/2017 13:35

How are they entitled? Have they told you that they all arrive en masse as one group, and that you aren't allowed to sit at any of the spare places at their tables or use the other 3 tables?

ShotsFired · 27/08/2017 13:44

Have never understood why people don't just use their words and request that people move possessions from unused chairs/places when they are needed.

It's perfectly polite and reasonable to say "may I sit here please?"

BackforGood · 27/08/2017 13:59

Very odd to leave a play area you've chosen to come to, because you either can't stand, or can't say "Excuse me, Can I sit here?" Confused

ThePinkOcelot · 27/08/2017 14:03

And the other 3 tables?!

Tiredoftalking · 27/08/2017 14:59

I do ask them to move stuff. I guess some people just feel intimidated by them. I just would never take over so much space if not actually needed so feel other people shouldn't. Mostly the issue arises because the play area is busy and the other 3 tables are being used as well, obviously no one leaves when there are free tables.

If there is a spare chair then just sit on it!

MarmaladeIsMyJam · 27/08/2017 15:02

You enter the park
You ask them to move stuff
They do so and you sit down

What's the problem exactly?

And why would people leave if there are no seats? Loads of play areas near me don't even have seats/tables

Oh and yabu
