They're my guilty pleasure, especially Fleur De Force even though I'm older than most of them and know they're just flogging loads of product at me.

Lots of my friends think it's pretty sad, but I'm a bit addicted! Do you have any Youtubers/Vloggers you quite like to watch?

I love Simply Nailogical and her spin off channels.

anniroc · 27/08/2017 10:15

Caroline Hirons is entertaining. Trinny Woodhall is hilariously bonkers!

TypicallyEnglishMustard · 27/08/2017 10:16

Me too! I've been watching YouTube since I was about 18. Am 27 now, and lots of people my age also watch it, though some think it's for teenagers.

I watch Booktubers mostly, though I also love Fleur de Force.

TypicallyEnglishMustard · 27/08/2017 10:18

A more recent favourite of mine is The Anna Edit. I genuinely look forward so much to her videos being in my subscription box. Her choice of style in clothing and interiors is perfect, IMO, and watching her videos made me reduce my wardrobe to a capsule-size.

MorrisZapp · 27/08/2017 10:21

Justine Lecomte (sp?) is a must watch.

TypicallyEnglishMustard · 27/08/2017 10:25

LaMadelynn is lovely to watch if you want something a bit more vintage-inspired, and her vlogs are always short enough that you won't be bored watching them.

I cannot stand 20min long vlogs... your life is not so interesting that it requires a video literally the same length as a traditional sitcom episode!

whyhastherumgone · 27/08/2017 10:27

Thanks for the recommendations will check 'em out :)
Glad to hear it's not just me! I like a bit of escapism into other peoples' lives...

I love watching Fleur De Force's videos too, Lydia Elise Millen is good for high end fashion too. Not that I can afford to buy anything she shows but I love to watch!
Lily Pebbles is another favourite Smile

Theyhaveallbeenused2 · 27/08/2017 10:29

Me too love fleur De force, sprinkle of glitter. And I know she gets a bit of hate here but mrs meldrum.

Eminybob · 27/08/2017 10:29

I don't know any of the names but I can get sucked in for hours watching videos of make up tutorials, nails, "hacks" of some description or another. Recipes.
I'll click on something from Facebook and I end up going deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. It's addictive!

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 27/08/2017 10:40

I love Tanya Burr and Estee Lalonde Blush

GoingToInfinity · 27/08/2017 13:21

I love sprinkleofglitter and Carrie Hope Fletcher but I'm subscribed to many more youtubers than I care to admit. I've been watching youtubers since I was 16 and still am age 25. A lot of youtubers cater for a younger teenage audience, but there is plenty out there for every age. It is weird as a teacher that 11 year olds I teach talk about people I watch and that are a similar age to me.

NurseButtercup · 27/08/2017 13:48

YouTube is my guilty secret and the reason I've stopped ironing!! Grin

I watch Nadia & Kaye for "lifestyle" tips and comedy moments!
Mark Kermode for movie reviews,
Jackie Aina and Sondra Deluxe just to watch them and be in awe of how beautiful they are and how they apply makeup (my attempts to recreate what they do make me look like a clown & is way Ott for the places that I'm going to),
Wayne Goss for makeup hints, tips and new products,
I used to watch Caroline Hirons for skincare, but her videos are too long and sporadic. I now just read her online blog. Blush

CaoNiMartacus · 27/08/2017 13:50

I love YouTube too! My faves are Fleur de Force, The Anna Edit, Lily Pebbles, Megan Ellaby, Sprinkle of Glitter, and even a bit of Zoella if I'm feeling extra indulgent.

I ended up buying one of those bloody Missoma horn necklaces that they all wear. I'm so easily influenced!

Copperspot · 27/08/2017 14:05

I still watch youtube channels of people i subscribed to years ago. I dip in and out, i don't watch them as they go up if you know what i mean.

I subscribed to sprinkle of glitter pre baby glitter, so over 6 years? I like to watch her still. I don't like the anna edit. I used to love her as 'vivianna does makeup' but now i think she is just so boring! And she outs makeup on and blends it out to nothing and it annoys me Grin

Lily pebbles i don't mind. I like her more now than years ago. Fleur de force i've watched for about 6years.

I like patricia bright, helen anderson, wayne goss, pixiwoo, jamie genevieve, nikki tutorials for complete escapism, persian babe sometimes.

GlitterNails · 27/08/2017 14:07

The Mitchalaks are amazing - they are like little films! Stef is so talented.

Copperspot · 27/08/2017 14:07

Also used to looooooove llymlrs back in the day but i think shes really lost her way recently.

She used have the best hair and style ever, now she just seems unhappy. She's gained weight (which is no bad thing) and seems unhappy with it. She also always seems to have really greasy hair. I actually wondered if she was depressed at one point.

She may have changed i don't know i haven't watched her for ages now

sweetbitter · 27/08/2017 14:13

Me too OP. In my 30s and also watch Fleur de Force, Sprinkle of Glitter...even Pointless Blog and Zoella! I do feel rather ashamed tbh, I know DP thinks its ridiculous.

I basically watch for background noise, like I'd never just sit down to watch some YouTube videos, but they're great to have on while I'm working out, folding laundry,, doing admin/meal planning, doing my makeup etc. Because I just stick them going on my phone and prop it up wherever. Don't need to give it my full attention the way I would with a proper TV series of film, but somehow more comforting/distracting than music (suspect this is because I grew up in a house where the TV was on 24/7).

I don't know why I like these particular Youtubers though...I started out watching for makeup tips, but am more into the vlogs now. I guess it's like reality TV/old school big brother: getting a daily look at the lives of others...

BatBelle · 27/08/2017 14:20

I'm 30 and love YouTube videos too, in fact I watch them more than I watch TV shows these days!

MotherOfBleach · 27/08/2017 14:23

Jenna Marbles is my secret pleasure, especially her videos with Peach and Kermit.

My ex had an Iggy. Lovely dogs, they are.

PieceOfMich · 27/08/2017 14:29

I usually switch it off when someone walks in the room. Blush

My favourites at the moment are Grace Helbig and Lisa Eldridge. They both seem authentic, whereas many others do a lot of ads or only mention affiliated products.

ButterflyFree · 27/08/2017 14:32

I never really got into the whole YouTube/vlog viewing thing until meeting my DH, who watches the latest uploads of his subscriptions daily, and now I really enjoy watching them with him too. It's part of our routine to wind down in the evening; sitting with the iPad and watching the new content.

He doesn't subscribe to any of the female lifestyle vloggers or makeup tutorials though 😂 We follow channels mainly about cars (e.g. Shmee150 and Supercars of London), science/life hacks (like CrazyRussianHacker - quite the character), as well as fascinating facts and food channels. I've really learnt a lot from it. My DH is a (very good) completely self-taught cook thanks to watching YouTube cooking videos since he was 20.

ButterflyFree · 27/08/2017 14:35

There is one makeup/beauty vlogger I like to watch though - not so much for the makeup but for her life in general. Her name is Jayde Pierce. She seems so sweet and genuine, I like the little family unit she's created with her partner and I love watching the progress of their baby girl Ayla who was born at the beginning of this year. I follow her on snapchat and Instagram as well as YouTube.

Rach5l · 27/08/2017 14:41

I watch a lot of Japan vloggers its escapism the drama is hilarious. There's one called kanadajin3 who's just a car crash
Another called Taylor R who vlogs daily about shopping and...nothing but it's somehow fascinating to watch such a vacuous life

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 27/08/2017 14:51

I like them too, I particularly like when they clean Confused I don't know why but I find it very soothing.

My kids like Zoella and consequently started watching Pointless Blog, Joe Sugg, Caspar, Fun for Louis, the SacconeJolys and Sprinkle of Glitter. I stopped them on the last two, I'm not keen on either of them and really, really dislike how they use their children and social media strops put me off.

I like Megan Ellaby, Lizzy Hadfield, Talk Becky Talk, MsGoldGirl, Chase Amie, The Endless Adventure, Emily Norris, Miss Budget Beauty and Helen Anderson.
