To ask if you get diarrhoea before period?

Screwinthetuna · 27/08/2017 09:17

I apologise if this is TMI for some!

Due on in a day or two and loose poo has arrived...anyone else get this beforehand?

I do have IBS and a little stressed which isn't helping, but I've noticed this in the past, too.
Oh and if that's not enough, the stress has triggered my fissure to join the party. Yum, fun 'bloody' times Wink

Gogogazzelle well why did you open it then? It clearly said what it was about in the title. Bodily fluids are nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about and very important to check things like these out. Thank you OP as I get this and had worried about if it was normal.

Amber0685 · 27/08/2017 12:26

Yes I do, the first day of my period, think it is to do with inflammation.

Orangebird69 · 27/08/2017 12:27

Yep, good old period poo. V common!

wildbhoysmama · 27/08/2017 12:30

argeles I was just raving about these adverts the other night as I sat with hot water bottle and scowl on my face Confused. A newish one shows the girl in white shorts splashing into the water from a rope swing! That's the first thing I think of doing when Liverpool are playing at home!

emwithme · 27/08/2017 12:33

Yup. Runny poos (for the first couple of days of period), javelin arse, a complete inability to regulate my body temperature all happen every cycle.

Plus I cannot sleep deeply the night before I come on. Tossing and turning and getting slowly grumpier...

Doglikeafox · 27/08/2017 12:37

I do and have done right from when I first started getting periods. Now I work from home and have access to a toilet I actually welcome the loose stools as it feels like I'm 'emptied' (TMI!) and I feel a lot better afterwards. It also seems to alleviate my period pain a bit. However, when I was working away from home it was a nightmare and really disrupted my day.

HarryBlackberry · 27/08/2017 12:39

Yes. My sister and I used to call them 'period poos'!

gunsandbanjos · 27/08/2017 12:42

Yup, I get this too.

And usually a migraine too, oh the joy of being a woman.

I'm definitely coming back as a bloke in my next life.

ChocolateBubbleBarsmakemefat · 27/08/2017 12:48

Yes and I've got a tilted uterus, never crossed my mind that it was related.

For me it occurs the day before or on the first day. This time it was joined by the migraine from hell which is still here on day 2 along with exceptional cramping and horrid dizzy spells. Oh the joy of being a woman!

AlmostAJillSandwich · 27/08/2017 12:50

Oh goodness yes i did!
I have ibs/suspected IBD, but it would be so much worse during my period, and i used to get really bad cramps. I could sometimes not need to wee for 2 days though despite drastically upping my fluid intake, they played havoc with my body. So glad i don't have any now i have an implant.

sweetbabboo · 27/08/2017 12:55

Yep, and I have a tilted uterus too. This is one of those questions I be always wondered but never asked!

Knope2020 · 27/08/2017 12:55

I have a tilted one too!!

The80sweregreat · 27/08/2017 13:28

i usually am constipated, then period starts and i'm back to normal again. however, my periods are up the wall as peri menopausal and not much idea what is going on just now. I hate my body and this could go on for years too ( 52 at the moment)
i hate the tampon/ pads adverts too - life can be awful with periods and all the other things it upsets ( such as the tummy and everything too)

HateSummer · 27/08/2017 13:32

I have a tilted uterus too and it tilts backwards. Would that affect my bowels? Interesting.

PolarBearGoingSomewhere · 27/08/2017 13:33

Reading this thread has been so helpful. Yes to period poos although my mum did warn me of that when I was a teen.

But the relief when I realised that's what "javelin arse" is. I've had 2 episodes of the javvers about a month apart and didn't link it until now. (Have only had 5 periods in 6.5 years to to pregnancy and BFing). Thank God it's normal.

MazDazzle · 27/08/2017 13:53

when Liverpool are playing at home

This had me in stitches. Grin

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/08/2017 14:04

No, but I do get an ovulation, though

IncyWincyGrownUp · 27/08/2017 14:09

Loose bowel for the first day or so, then horrendous migraine for day 2 and 3.

Mother Nature is a queen among bitches.

Fluffyears · 27/08/2017 14:20

Yes yes, i'm Normal! I have a tilted uterus and serious cramp, I get loose stools thirst day or too and when I go I get an awful cramp in my arse that I now know is Javelin Arse, it really hurts!

Gunpowder · 27/08/2017 14:27

Me too! Another one with a tilted uterus too. I wish there was more evidence into this sort of stuff. Bet if men had periods there would be. Luckily due to pregnancy and breastfeeding I have only had 3 or 4 periods since the end of 2011.

SecretLimonadeDrinker · 27/08/2017 14:29

Thanks mumsnetters!

This thread is so reassuring FlowersWine

HappyAxolotl · 27/08/2017 15:02

Does anyone else find they get very heavy-feeling and sore thighs during their period? Or is that just me?

Everything from below my ribs to my knees hurts when I've got the blob. Sad

Knope2020 · 27/08/2017 15:41

Yep
Migraine
The shits
Cramps...like labour contractions - on the plus side I didnt think labour was that bad after 2 decades of this bullshit every month
Im now 44 and since I was 40 have been Peri menopausal - im now on hrt
Wish I could say it's helped!

Screwinthetuna · 27/08/2017 15:52

HappyAx I get the heavy feeling too, especially in my crotch. It's like I'm carrying a bowling ball in there. I only have this when I'm on heavy

OP posts:
MrsPear · 27/08/2017 16:12

Tilted womb and period poos check

Bowling ball and cramps in tummy, back and thighs check

Heavy periods no quite light - use to be horrendous in my teens - as in use normal towels changed regularly.

Ps where is this month's period?!
