AIBU to ask if you ever surprise yourself when it comes to judging others?

Do you ever hear about people judging others and think to yourself that in that situation you wouldn't be judgemental but when you see it yourself you surprise yourself by just how judgemental you feel?

It happened to me tonight and I'm quite shocked at the direction my thought process was going but no matter how much I told myself to give my head a wobble I just felt like an absolute judgemental cow, which I was. Previously I would have defended someone's right to do this. Confused

I'm not asking for your stories (although I'd love to hear them if anyone were brave enough) because I'm not exactly forthcoming with mine (total wimp), I just need reassurance that others do it too? Do you do it too?

Of course I judge. We all do, whether we admit it or not. That's how we decide if someone is safe, if they are like us, if we can trust them or be friends.
To pretend we don't is foolish.
If I see someone feeding entirely inappropriate food/drink (Pepsi to a newborn, alcohol to a toddler) or poorly dressed (cute but no hat in minus 15) or badly parenting (laying the beats, screaming obscenities) or smoking in your car with a baby, I will judge.
We are all works in progress , and sometimes there are struggles you don't know, but a shit parent is a shit parent .
